Good Idea/Bad Idea? Presidential Tears

Are you surprised at my tears, sir? Even President Barack Obama cries.

A video of President Barack Obama thanking his campaign staff went viral on Friday. The reason? It featured the reelected president welling up as he reminisced about his humble beginnings in Chicago.

After a long, hard-fought campaign — undoubtedly the president's last — it's hard to begrudge the man a few wistful tears.

But not everybody thinks Obama is genuine, even in this YouTube video of an unguarded moment in front of close-knit young staffers.

So we put it to you: What do you think of the president's tears?

What a dumb article. Everyone cries. When your emotions dominate your self control, those emotions manifest themselves. It's not an "idea", it's being human. Enough of this none sense already. You're making me cry!

Barack Obama seems to be the last gentleman in America. He restrained himself in the first debate to avoid looking like an angry Black man. He gave it back to Romney in debates 2 and 3 because Romney had already set the limbo pole down low. Obama has controlled his temper at times when lesser men (Romney) lost his. He has been an inspiration to us all. He learned well through his exposure to and appreciation of other cultures.

Ha dems always gave Boehner stuff about his crying and now they love that Obama is boo hooing like a man. What a bunch of malarkey

I agree totally--the Pres isn't a robot, nor is he a crybaby-- only psychopaths don't cry sometimes. Wasn't like he broke down. Just show what idiots run our media.

Trying to create controversy when there is none. You're seriously suggesting that Obama's emotions weren't genuine or that they show weakness? This is the last time I'll visit Middletown Patch, whatever this puny blog is. I'm amazed this even appeared in Google News.

I think the president needed something like this to ease off the stress, the bikerings, name-callings, insults, hatred that went with the last election campagn. It shows his human side and also his sincerity and commitment to serve the people. If he had done this before the election, people would think that he is scheming and not being real. It was just a person being real human with those he calls his community and family. steve oscar
