Annual Middletown Democratic Picnic

The picnic is a thank you to Democrats who voted in the August Primary and will also be a chance to meet this fall’s Democratic candidate.

The Middletown Democrats’ annual picnic will be held on Sunday, September 16th at 1:00 p.m. at Ron McCutcheon Park at Crystal Lake.  All Democratic-registered voters and their friends are invited to attend and meet this fall’s Democratic candidates.  Food and beverages will be provided and children are welcome.

“We would like to thank those Democrats who came out to vote during the August primary and have them as our guests” said Dan Pickett, Chairman of the Middletown Democratic Town Committee.  “With the Presidential, Congressional and Legislative elections in November just around the corner, this will also be a great opportunity for voters to meet our Democratic candidates and their fellow Middletown Democrats.”

Chairman Pickett wanted to point out that the event is not a fund raiser, but rather a picnic designed to meet other Democrats in town and to meet the Democratic candidates for U.S. Congress and for the Connecticut General Assembly.  “We are looking forward to the opportunity to meet folks in our community who are supportive of the Democratic Party and our Democratic candidates” Pickett said.  Chairman Pickett also noted that the Governor Dannel Malloy, Lieutenant Governor Nancy Wyman, Secretary of State Denise Merril, Treasurer Denise Nappier, Comptroller Kevin Lembo, Attorney General George Jepsen, U.S. Senator Richard Blumenthal, Congressman John Larson, Congresswoman Rosa DeLauro and State Democratic Party Chairwoman Nancy DiNardo have all been invited to the picnic.

The Middletown Democratic Party is supporting Barak Obama for President, Chris Murphy for U.S. Senate, John Larson for the 1st Congressional District, Rosa DeLauro for the 3rd Congressional district, Sen. Paul Doyle for the 9th State Senate seat, Dante Bartolomeo for the 13th State Senate seat, Rep. Joe Serra for 33rd State Representative, and Rep. Matt Lesser for 100th State Representative.

If you are planning on attending, please let Democratic Town Committee Chairman Dan Pickett know at 860-704-0025 or danthedem@yahoo.com.
