Dan Drew Announces Democratic Bid for Mayor

Freshman Middletown Councilman accepts his party's nomination to run against sitting Mayor Sebastian Giuliano

Middletown Common Councilman Dan Drew accepted the Democratic nomination for mayor Thursday and announced his campaign to run against three-term Mayor Sebastian Giuliano.

"It's not right that jobs have been created in City Hall for the politically connected. It's not right that one of the mayor's key allies made $30,000 in taxpayer-funded overtime in one year. It's not right that the mayor used taxpayer money to install a big-screen TV in his personal office," Drew said.

Standing before members of the Democratic Town Committee and his young family, Drew promised to improve the city's relationship with Middletown schools and "spend our money on educating children instead or enriching attorneys."
