Anne Evans of Middletown Export Center Honored for Work for Veterans

The DOD Patriot Award is presented to employers who demonstrate extraordinary support of employees who are Reservists and National Guard members.

Anne Evans, District Director for the U.S. Department of Commerce’s International Trade Administration in Middletown, has been awarded the Department of Defense Reservist and Guard Patriot Award.

“Anne’s work with Connecticut reservists, guardsmen, and veterans is exceptional," said Congressman Joe Courtney (CT-2). T"hanks to the Veterans Workforce Development Program that she spearheaded after identifying a segment of Connecticut workers who wanted training and companies who needed skilled employees, more than 20 veterans have found private sector employment in our state.

"I am glad to have assisted her in developing and expanding that program. From growing our state’s economy by helping businesses increase overseas exports, to facilitating the transition of Connecticut veterans back to civilian life, Anne is a tireless, dedicated advocate and friend.”

The DOD Patriot Award is presented to employers who demonstrate extraordinary support of employees who are Reservists and National Guard members. Evans was nominated by John Acosta, a reservist from Waterbury who participated in the Veterans Workforce Development Program.
