Council OKs $3.5M in Bonds for Reval, Library Upgrades

The passage of five resolutions Thursday night will allow the city to complete projects including a property revaluation and purchase a new computer and telephone system for Middletown city hall.

The common council approved a $3,545,250 in bonding for five information technology projects and Russell Library upgrades Thursday night, according to a story in the Hartford Courant.

The breakdown is as follows:

  • $625,000 for a new computer system and $685,000 for a new telephone system at city hall
  • $736,000 for IT storage
  • $749,250 for improvements
  • $750,000 for a property revaulation

Connecticut towns must implement revaluations every five years. Middletown's last reval was in 2005.
