City's Finance Director Earns Government Finance Accolades

The city has earned the highest form of recognition in government accounting, after the Government Finance Officers Association of the United States and Canada recognized Middletown's director of finance and revenue services Carl Erlacher this week.
The Certificate of Achievement for Excellence in Financial Reporting was given to the city for its comprehensive annual financial report, according to a press release issued by Mayor Dan Drew.
Applicants were judged by an impartial panel to meet the rigorous standards: demonstrating a constructive "spirit of full disclosure," according to the press statement, to clearly communicate its financial story and motivate potential users and groups.
