City to Mark Sept. 11 in Morning Ceremony on South Green

Fire and police color guards will march to the South Green Tuesday morning to join the city of Middletown in observing a moment of silence and sending a Signal 5555 — a line-of-duty-death.

 

The city will host the annual observance of the Sept. 11, 2001, terrorist attacks on the United States. The observance will be conducted on Middletown's at 8:46 a.m., the time the first plane hit the World Trade Center.

  • Introduction by Mayor Drew
  • Pledge of Allegiance led by Mayor Drew
  • Moment of Silence: Lowering of the National Flag to Half Staff
  • Reading of the story behind the Signal 5555
  • Ringing of the bell to Signal 5555
  • Raise the National Flag to Full Staff
  • Closing Statements
