Westfield Fire Presents Budget to Residents Tuesday

The increase of 1.2 percent results in a $1.342 million proposal

Middletown's Westfield Fire District Budget vote is Tuesday at 8 p.m. at the firehouse, 653 East St. The budget proposal would increase from last year's $1.326 million to $1.342 million, a 1.2-percent increase.

Linda DeManche, fire district administrator at Westfield Fire, said although there are about 20,000 residents in the fire district, typically 50 turn out for the budget vote, which is done by ballot and lasts about an hour.

The meeting begins at 8 p.m. Tuesday at the fire station, 653 East St.
