Police: Deep River Man Witnessed Injecting Narcotics in Moving Car

Connecticut State Police, Troop F, Westbrook, report several Middletown-related arrests.

Connecticut State Police Westbrook, Troop F, report the following incidents:

On Nov. 24, police responded to a one-car collision with a wire rope guide rail on Route 9 south of Exit 10 in Haddam. There were no injuries. Joshua M. Capral, 33, of Carriage Crossing, Middletown, failed field sobriety tests. He was charged with operating under the influence, failure to drive in the proper lane.

On Nov. 22 at 12:40 p.m., state police received a call about a suspicious person/activity complaint at 502 Foothills Road in Haddam. A witness saw a man trying to break into the house while the owners were on vacation. Derek Mandeville, 23, of Middletown was arrested.

On Nov. 22 at 4:53 p.m., a citizen reported seeing two occupants of a car driving on Route 9 south injecting narcotics. Police stopped them in Deep River. In plain view were hypodermic needles and plastic bags with narcotics. Patrick W. Hazuka, 20, of Stanwoll Hill Road, Deep River, was charged with operating under the influence, possession of narcotics and drug paraphernalia, illegal purchase of liquor/possession of by a minor, possession less than a half-ounce of marijuana, and possession of related drug paraphernalia.
