UPDATE: Two Injured in Freeman Road Accident; Extrication Required

Both were transported to Hartford Hospital Monday — one by Lifestar.

Two city residents are at Hartford Hospital after the car they were in drove off Freeman Road and hit several trees, according to Middletown Police. One was extricated by firefighters and transported by Lifestar.

Both sustained serious injuries.

South Fire District firefighters responded with two engine companies to a single-car motor vehicle accident Monday at 2:30 p.m. near 290 Freeman Road.

A 2004 Jaguar driven by Zahir Muhammad Mannan, 23, of Middletown, was traveling east on Freeman. The car traveled to the right and off the road, making contact with several trees, the report details.

Mannan was extricated by South Fire District personnel and transported to Hartford Hospital by Lifestar for serious injuries, according to police. His passenger, Sana Shah, 23, of Middletown, was transported by Hunter’s Ambulance to Hartford Hospital for serious injuries.
