Two City Residents Arrested for Allegedly Buying Heroin on Same Day

Middletown Police report the following arrests:

SECOND-DEGREE CRIMINAL MISCHIEF, RISK OF INJURY TO MINOR — On June 20, William Stewart, 22, of Park Side Terrace, Meriden, during an argument with his girlfriend jumped on the hood of her car and smashed the windshield while she and the son were inside, causing $500 in damage.

DUI, RECKLESS DRIVING, EVADING RESPONSIBILITY, TRAVELING TOO FAST FOR CONDITIONS — On June 19, officers were called to Main and Spring streets for an accident with injuries but found the car had hit the guardrail an sign on the southbound lane of the Arrigoni Bridge. The driver, Raymond Hassenfeldt, 25, of Prospect Street, and a passenger had fled the scene but another passenger remained. An hour earlier, police had responded to a loud noise complaint on Prospect Street in which Hassenfeldt was observed as highly intoxicated. The passenger called Hassenfeldt, who was found at home. His companion was sent to the hospital with head trauma. Hassenfeldt first said he was driving the car but later said he didn’t remember. The passenger on scene said he was jokingly jerking the steering wheel while speeding over the bridge. He failed breathalyzer tests, with a .264 and .263 blood alcohol level.

CRIMINAL VIOLATION OF PROTECTIVE ORDER, SECOND-DEGREE BREACH OF PEACE — On June 19, Jose Soriano, 40, of Webster Street, Meriden, was at Maplewood Terrace at the scene of an unwanted person complaint. The victim said Soriano was banging on her windows.

SECOND-DEGREE BREACH OF PEACE — On June 18, Julio L. Rabassa, 23, of East Main Street was at the Wesleyan high-rise building on Church Street during a domestic. Rabassa said he was in a heated verbal argument with his girlfriend, who was jealous that he went to a bar earlier and accused him of cheating on her. He said they got into a pushing and shoving match in the car while he was driving and he pulled into the parking lot. He said he never hit his girlfriend, who appeared intoxicated and upset. She said they were arguing in the car and he punched her above her left eye. Police noticed swelling there.

DISORDERLY CONDUCT — On June 18, Audley V. Comerie, 55, of Westfield Terrace was at the scene of a domestic argument with his wife. His daughter said she had been pushed into the hallway wall when her father passed her.

DISORDERLY CONDUCT, SECOND-DEGREE THREATENING — On June 18, Christopher Clark, 35, of Westfield Street was at the scene of a domestic in which the victim, his girlfriend, said he threatened to put her head through a window. She said he also smashed his guitar and threw her belongings on the hood of the car. When she called 911, he told her they better bring an ambulance.

DISORDERLY CONDUCT, THIRD-DEGREE ASSAULT — On June 17, Dawn Jarvis, 41, of Loveland Street was on Pleasant Street on the report of a domestic. The victim said he was asleep in bed when his girlfriend Dawn attacked him. He said she was very drunk and in the bathroom. He had a scratch above his right eye and cut on his left leg but refused medical attention. She was found in the common bathroom outside the apartment, crying and smelling of alcohol. She could barely walk and said she was upset because he was using again. She was sent to Middlesex Hospital for detox.

RECKLESS DRIVING — On June 17, Dillon T. Chapman, 19, of Newfield Street was driving recklessly in a Walnut Grove Road park, witnessed doing donuts in the parking lot, speeding and almost hitting a city backhoe and telephone pole. He admitted to both offenses when found at home.

SECOND-DEGREE FAILURE TO APPEAR — On June 17, Travis J. Lane, 27, of Stonington Road, Norwich, turned himself into police for an outstanding warrant.

OPERATING MOTOR VEHICLE WITH SUSPENDED DRIVERS LICENSE, NO TURN SIGNALS — On June 15, Yohanny H. Rodriguez, 30, of Grand Street was driving on Grand Street with a defective left taillight.

POSSESSION OF HEROIN, AND DRUG PARAPHERNALIA — On June 15, Allan C. Day, 34, of Rapallo Avenue was observed by police buying heroin on Liberty Street.

POSSESSION OF HEROIN, SALE NARCOTIC SUBSTANCE, AND WITHIN 1,500 FEET OF SCHOOL — On June 15, Jean M. Carroll, 48, of Grand Street was seen buying heroin from someone and selling it to another on Main Street.

OPERATING MOTOR VEHICLE WITHOUT INSURANCE, TRAVELING TOO FAST, FOLLOWING TOO CLOSELY — On June 12, Christine Parker, 42, of Walnut Street was arrested after the car she was driving was involved in a four-car accident on Route 9 North.

POSSESSION OF DRUG PARAPHERNALIA — On June 12, Rachel F. Larkin, 29, of Pearl Street was witnessed being dropped off on Main Street at Rapallo Avenue. She has numerous arrests for prostitution and narcotics violations. An officer asked her about staying clean and she said she wasn’t. She agreed she was prostituting after being released from jail, turned over three used hypodermic needles, one still filled with blood.

UNSAFE MOVEMENT, OPERATING MOTOR VEHICLE WITH SUSPENDED DRIVERS LICENSE, AND WITHOUT INSURANCE, AND UNREGISTERED MOTOR VEHICLE — On June 10, Ronald A. Brandon, 33, was driving on Grandview Drive, which was closed off after a transformer fire. He turned onto East Street, which was also blocked, and witnessed by an officer as becoming irate. He then revved his engine and spun his tires in anger, causing smoke to rise from the road. The pickup made a sharp left turn as the back of it fishtailed.

POSSESSION UNDER 4 OZ MARIJUANA, AND DRUG PARAPHERNALIA — On June 3, Kirstin Lipinski, 18, of Wolf Pit Road, Farmington, was a rear passenger in a car driving on deKoven Drive ahead of a police officer, who saw someone throw a lit cigarette out the window. The officer smelled marijuana coming from the car. A search revealed a plastic bag with marijuana residue, a smoking pipe and rolling papers, which Lipinski said were hers. The driver, Ashley M. DeJesus, 19, of Camp Street, Farmington, who was additionally charged with littering and throwing objects in the road, admitted to owning a hand-rolled marijuana cigarette and pipe. The rear passenger, Jeremiah K. Kilpatrick, 22, of Judson Lane, Farmington, admitted to owning a metal grinder, small amount of marijuana and smoking pipe.
