UPDATE: DUI Factor in Early-Morning Crash That Left 2 Hospitalized

A 30-year-old Portland man was arrested for driving under the influence after the collision of a Honda and Subaru Sunday on Industrial Park Road Middletown.

 

A serious, early-morning two-car collision sent three men to the hospital, with at least one critically injured. A passerby alerted authorities after coming across the devastating accident on Industrial Park Road in Middletown, near the Centerpoint Executive Park, police report.

On Sunday at 2:40 a.m., a 2004 Honda Accord driven by David Turcotte, 29, of Glastonbury, was driving south near 333 Industrial Park Road, police report.

A 2006 Subaru Baja driven by Robert McLellan, 30, of Portland, was also driving south, when both vehicles traveled to the right, and off the roadway, the report indicates. The Honda struck a tree, cutting the vehicle in half. A passenger of the Subaru was ejected from the vehicle after traveling off the roadway, police report. 

Turcotte and the passenger in the Subaru were brought to Hartford Hospital for injuries.

McLellan was charged with driving under the influence fter being released from Middlesex Hospital. He was held on a $50,000 bond.

McLellan has three pending cases and a multitude of convictions from 2003-2007, according to the state of Connecticut Judicial website.
