A routine bus ride turned into an emergency situation as a pregnant woman's water broke on a city bus Wednesday evening, according to the Middletown Press.
A Middletown Fire Department unit responded to a call of a woman on a bus giving birth while riding on the Middletown Area Transit Wesleyan Hills line, and an ambulance met the bus on South Main Street, according to the Press.
She was rushed to Middlesex Hospital, officials said. An after-hours phone call to the hospital’s spokeswoman to check on the new mother’s condition was not returned, the Press is reporting.
