Report: Mom Left 2 Kids Alone While She Worked Late at Hospital

Middletown Police say an ex-boyfriend alerted them that a 37-year-old Middlesex Hospital employee left her 5- and 7-year-old children sleeping at home while she worked.

A 37-year-old Middletown woman faces two counts of risk of injury after police say she left her two kids alone at home sleeping while she worked her hospital shift.

On July 30 at 11:22 p.m., police were called to the home of Kenya T. Dunn, 37, of Rising Trail Drive after her ex-boyfriend called to say her two young children, ages 5 and 7 years, were home alone while she worked at Middlesex Hospital, according to the report.

When officers found Dunn at work, she told them her mother was watching the children although police found her children asleep alone at home, according to the report.

The children's father were given custody of the children, police say, and the state Department of Child and Family Services notified.

She was charged with two counts risk of injury to a minor.
