Report: City Man, 68, Dies After Motorcycle Collision, Police Chase

State Police report Peter Marino hit the back of a bike driven by Bruce Anderson, of Lancaster, Penn., with his Toyota Camry in New Haven, then drove away. He later hit a grove of trees.

Two men, including one from Middletown, were killed Saturday when a car hit a motorcycle, throwing the operator from his bike, and the driver fled the scene, then crashed into trees after a police pursuit on the Merritt Parkway.

NBC Connecticut reports Peter Marino, 68, of Middletown, hit the back of a bike driven by Bruce Anderson, 63, of Lancaster, Penn., with his Toyota Camry on Route 15 at 3:45 p.m. in New Haven, then drove away.

Anderson was thrown from his motorcycle and taken to Yale-New Haven Hospital, where he was pronounced dead, NBC reports.

When police located Marino's car from a witness description, he reportedly sped away, swerved down an embankment and hit several trees, dying at the scene, according to NBC.
