Police Searching For Man Who Held Up Middletown CVS With Machete

A victim was also mugged in the Marshall's department store parking lot Thursday on East Main Street, however police say the two incidents are unrelated.

Middletown Police are searching for two men who committed robberies in a quarter-mile stretch of city roadway late this week in separate incidents.

On Friday at 3:30 a.m., police say, a white male, six feet tall and about 170 pounds, wearing a black face mask, black long-sleeve shirt, black jeans and black shoes entered CVS on Main Street Extension and threatened an employee by demanding money witha machete.

He then grabbed the money and fled on foot, according to police.

The report says there is no video surveillance footage to release.

On Thursday at 7:30 p.m., an older black male, according to police, mugged a victim in the parking lot of Marshall’s department store at 416 East Main Street by grabbing a man by the arm, then punching him in the face.

Police say the suspect, described as a black man with dreadlocks, about 40 years old and 6 feet tall with a thin build, took the man's money from his pocket and fled on foot.  The victim was treated and released from the hospital with minor injuries, according to the report.
