Police: Men's Two-Day Fight Spurred by 'Dope' Ends in Arrests

Middletown Police report the following arrests through June 30.

Middletown Police report the following incidents:

SECOND-DEGREE BREACH OF PEACE, THIRD-DEGREE CRIMINAL MISCHIEF — On June 30, Anthony Simonelli, 53, of Washington Street was in the 400 block on a report of a domestic with his girlfriend. He said when she cam home he asked her for his $20 and she said she used it for gas. He approached her with his cane, smashed his cane on the kitchen table and smashed tow flower pots onto the floor. He said he broke them because “she got mouthy with him.”

TWO COUNTS PROBATION VIOLATION — On June 30, Robert Ciarleglio, 50, of Reiman Drive, Cromwell turned himself into police.

CREATING PUBLIC DISTURBANCE — On June 29, Christopher P. Brandimarte, 27, of Main Street, Middlefield, was transported to Middletown by Portland Police for an outstanding warrant from Feb. 21, 2010, for failure to appear.

INTERFERING WITH OFFICER — On June 29, officers driving on Washington Street saw what appeared to be a hand-to-hand drug deal on Pearl Street. James Hardy, 34, of Wall Street, identified by witnesses as involved was walking on Pearl Street. Police found him with Milton Hardy, 38, of Broad Street. James admitted to having a razor on him for protection. James gave a fake name so police asked Milton how they were related and where he lived. Milton said they were cousins and he “lived all over.” James had been arrested earlier for criminal possession of a pistol or revolver. Milton was additionally charged for interfering with an officer.

SECOND-DEGREE BREACH OF PEACE — On June 22, Daniel A. Riggio, 23, of Roast Meat Hill Road, Killingworth, was at a disturbance in the 500 block of Main Street. Efrain Ramos, 33, of Ferry Street said on June 21, Riggio and approached his girlfriend and asked if she needed “dope” of Vicodin. She said no, walked away and Ramos confronted Riggio, grabbed him by the shirt and argued. Ramos told Riggio not to come back to the barber shop where he was working. On June 22, Riggio returned, being loud toward Ramos, arguing and goading him on. Riggio took a fighting stance so Ramos struck him several times in the face and head. Riggio said he would have the Hell’s Angels come downtown and kill Ramos. Both were arrested.
