Police: Man Who Blew Three Times Legal Limit Crashed Car

Middletown Police say the 22-year-old said he was driving home from the 24-hour Wal-Mart in Cromwell when another vehicle cut him off.

A city man was charged with driving under the influence after Middletown Police say a breathalyzer test registered his blood-alcohol content at more than three times the legal limit in Connecticut. 

On Nov. 5 at 1:18 a.m., Michael E. Mangini-Finn, 22, of Middletown was found parked on the side of the road after being involved in a car accident at Washington and Butternut streets with his Toyota Scion, police say. 

Mangini-Finn told officers he was driving home from Wal-Mart in Cromwell when another car cut him off, according to the report.

Police say Mangini-Finn had slurred speech, glossy eyes and smelled of alcohol and denied drinking, however two empty pint bottles of Capt. Morgan spiced rum were seen in the back of his car.

A breathalyzer test registered he had a .2419 and .2219 blood-alcohol content, according to the report.

He was charged with driving under the influence and failure to drive in proper lane.

On Oct. 2, according to the Connecticut Judicial Branch website, he was charged with speeding over 70 miles per hour.
