Police: Man's Death on Mt. Higby No Longer Suspicious

Middletown Police say they are no longer considering the death of an unnamed man on Dec. 3 in a wooded area of the city as criminal.

The death of an unnamed man found Dec. 3 in a remote, wooded area of Middletown is no longer being considered suspicious, according to Middletown Police Lt. Heather Desmond.

Authorities investigating the body discovered last week near Mt. Higby Reservoir off Route 66 would only describe the deceased as a male they had searched for for part of the afternoon.

Desmond says the man has been identified and his family notified and does not expect to release any further information on this case.

On Dec. 3 at 3 p.m., Middletown Police assisted Meriden Police with a suspicious motor vehicle when a canine track was initiated. The track eventually led authorities to the body, according to a press release.
