PD: No Foul Play Suspect in Prospect Street Man's Death

Middletown Police say the man, in his 40s, was discovered around 5 p.m. Monday by a neighbor. Police report his death appears to be an accident.

 

On Monday at 4:15 p.m., were called to 171 Prospect St. to investigate a report of a lifeless body discovered in a basement window. 

Upon arrival, officers discovered a man with no vital signs partially draped out of the basement window. An individual inside of the home identified the man as a resident of 171 Prospect St., the report says.

The home is owned by a John A. Shelby, according to the Assessor's database. Tuesday morning, a basement window on the north side of the single-family home was boarded up with wood.

There were no signs of foul play and the incident appears to have been an accident. Middletown Police Detectives along with the State Medical Examiner are actively investigating the incident.
