Police Blotter: Jan. 9-14

The following arrest information was supplied by local and state police departments. It does not indicate a conviction.


Wednesday, Jan. 9

Giuseppe Caturano, 46, of Branford, was arrested and charged with criminal violation of a restraining order and violation of a protective order. According to court records, Caturano has been arrested three times since October by police for violating the protective order.

Thursday, Jan. 10

 Jeffrey Given, 51, of Wilcox Drive, Durham, was charged with operation of an unregistered motor vehicle and improper use of a marker plate. According to a police report, Given pulled into the Citgo gas station on South Main Street in Middletown driving a Geo Prizm with a plate belonging to a Honda Civic station wagon, then walked away from his car toward Warwick Street. Given told the officer the car was not his and his brother had driven it to the gas station, despite the officer seeing him doing it, the report says.

Monday, Jan. 14

Bret G. Plucinski, 51, of Woodland Heights, Rockfall was charged with failure to carry certificate of insurance, improper use of a marker plate, defective muffler and failure to have stop lamps. According to Middletown Police, Plucinski was witnessed driving a car on Washington and Butternut streets with a plate belonging on a Mercedez Benz owned by Central Auto Auction in Meriden. Police say the muffler was excessively loud.
