A 57-year-old homeless man is facing misdemeanor charges after he admitted to relieving himself on the wall outside a downtown barbershop, Middletown Police say.
On Nov. 2 at 3:53 p.m., police were called to the patio area of Metro Square near p on the report of a woman defecated on the side of the building.
She was not found, the report says, but Michael M. Muscarella, 57, of Newfield Street was seen urinating by officers on the back wall of the barbershop.
He is well-known, police say, as a homeless man, and admitted to urinating on the wall. Three times police asked him to sit on a bench and he refused, the report says, then when one took his arm, he pushed the officer away.
He has a criminal history including interfering, disorderly conduct and breach of peace convictions.
Muscarella was arrested for interfering with an officer and creating a public disturbance.
