Police: 66-Year-Old Woman Threatens Son's Ex With Knife

DISORDERLY CONDUCT, INTERFERING WITH EMERGENCY CALL — On July 28, Scott Gudrian, 22, of Grand Street came home drunk and began banging on his parents’ room door, accusing the mother of assaulting the father, calling her swears. The father opened the door, placed his hands on his chest to calm him down but he refused. The mother was trembling and crying uncontrollably.

THREE COUNTS SECOND-DEGREE FAILURE TO APPEAR — On July 27 at 11:10 p.m., officers conducted a motor vehicle stop at Loveland and South Main Street. An occupant, Douglas Bennett-Shinkovich, 24, of Lebanon Avenue, Lebanon, was found with outstanding warrants from Connecticut State Police Troop F and K and Hartford Police.

THREE COUNTS FAILURE TO REGISTER AS A SEX OFFENDER — On July 27, Ryan T. Meagher, 27, of Main Street was found at the Middletown Area Transit bus station with outstanding warrants.

DISORDERLY CONDUCT — On July 27 at 11:52 p.m., Frank Klegg, 64, of Clinton Street, New Britain, was at the scene of a disturbance in the 600 block of High Street. Sherry McDaniel, 38, was throwing clothes and toiletries down the inside staircase while Clegg, her boyfriend, was yelling at her to leave for not supporting the household or paying bills. She said his ex allowed them to stay in the apartment while she was at Wadsworth; the ex confirmed the story. McDaniel said she didn’t have a job but was looking for one. He grabbed her by then neck and shoulder and pushed her down on the bed. Both were arrested.

THIRD-DEGREE LARCENY, ISSUING BAD CHECK — On July 26, Michelle M. Cherry, 31, of Grand Street was arrested following a motor vehicle stop on outstanding warrants.

FIRST-DEGREE CRIMINAL TRESPASS, THREATENING — On July 26 at 5:27 p.m., Maribeth G. Adams, 66, of Maple Place entered the apartment of her son’s ex-girlfriend by unlocking the door with a key. She was found in the kitchen with a knife. She was asked to leave by the roommate, and responded, “I’m going to kill you, you [expletive]. Get out of my house.” When told the woman called the police, she said, “go ahead, I’ll have stabbed you and you’ll bleed to death before they get here.” She agreed to doing so and was sent to the hospital for an emergency exam.

BREACH OF PEACE, INTERFERING WITH AN OFFICER — On July 26, Grisell Matos, 26, of Myrtle Street, Meriden, was at the Department of Social Services on Main Street Extension swearing in the reception area. He struck the officer on the wrist.

DISORDERLY CONDUCT — On July 25 at 8:56 p.m., Larry D. Floyd, 30, of McKenna Drive was at an apartment on the 30 block of South Main Street and punched a victim in the eye and ripped his shirt off. Floyd was agitated and drunk and said he “had blood on his hands” and wanted a promise to appear but would not talk further. He has been convicted of multiple assaults.

FAILURE TO CARRY MINIMUM INSURANCE, IMPROPER USE MARKER PLATE, OPERATING UNREGISTERED MOTOR VEHICLE — On July 25, Justin A. Wilson, 30, of High Street was driving north on Main Street with a loud muffler.

OPERATING MOTOR VEHICLE WITH SUSPENDED LICENSE — On July 25, Joseph E. Ford, 23, of Main Street, East Hampton, was driving east on Spring Street with no front plate.

FOURTH-DEGREE LARCENY — On July 24, Teresa M. Tomasino 19, was arrested in the 200 block of Main Street.

OPERATING MOTOR VEHICLE WITH SUSPENDED LICENSE AND UNREGISTERED — On July 24 at 5:20 p.m., William Brunson, 23, of Winnett Street, Hamden, was driving on South Main Street.

BREACH OF PEACE — On July 23 at 4 p.m., Candi L. Kalinowski, 49, of South Front Street pushed her neighbor, who shares a driveway with her, into the trashcan and began screaming at her. A witness confirmed the story. Kalinowski said she felt harassed by a text message asking her to move her truck. A similar incident happened a few days before with Kalinowski being sent to the hospital for psychiatric treatment.

FAILURE TO CARRY MINIMUM INSURANCE, OPERATING UNREGISTERED MOTOR VEHICLE — On July 22, Victoria L. Strickland, 44, of Frazier Avenue was driving on Liberty Street.

THIRD-DEGREE CRIMINAL MISCHIEF — On July 20 at 6:41 p.m., Kenisha T. Swain, 32, of Oak Street was at King of Spirits on Newfield Street, argued with a woman, followed her to her car, yelling, “If you’re so grown up, get out of the car,” then damaged her car’s driver’s side front door. Swain said she kicked the car because the woman opened the car door on her.

POSSESSION NARCOTICS — On July 19 at 7:10 p.m., Frank Thigpen Jr., 48, of Wall Street was driving a Buick on East Main Street without a front plate. The officer saw a cut-off straw, burnt marijuana cigarette and two wax paper squares with heroin.

OPERATING UNREGISTERED MOTOR VEHICLE, FAILURE TO CARRY MINIMUM INSURANCE — On July 18 at 11:23 a.m., Shane Hamlin, 26, of Beaver Brooke Lane, Shelton, was driving on Newfield Street without a brake light. He said he just bought it and was en route to have work done on it.
