Cops Still Searching for Wesleyan Gunman

Middletown Police say an armed male bound two students in their dorm and made off with cash and electronics Saturday.

 

are investigating leads on a man who they say bound and robbed two students at gunpoint in their dorm Saturday night — and made off with their cash and electronics.

On April 7 at 7:06 p.m. officers responded to a call for help from Foss Hill Drive Nicolson Residence Hall on campus. A Wesleyan student and another Nicholson resident were robbed at gunpoint, according to the report.

The suspect, a heavyset white male, 5 feet six inches tall, bound students with duct tape and took their money and electronics. Shortly after the suspect fled, according to the report, the students freed themselves and called police. They were not injured.

The suspect, police say, was wearing a grey sweatshirt and blue jeans and was carrying a red and black backpack. The hand gun was silver and green.

Police say this is an isolated incident, and the suspect was specifically targeting the victim. The Middletown Police Department’s Major Investigative Services and the Patrol Division are pursuing the suspect's identity and it's not known if the suspect is a Wesleyan student.
