PD: Server Target of Ire in Chicken Sandwich Mixup

Middletown Police say a McDonald's customer — who mistakenly ordered the wrong meal— threw his chicken at the cashier in frustration.

A former employee of the South Main Street McDonald's hurled a chicken sandwich at a cashier in frustration after an order mixup, according to .

On March 27 at 7 p.m., Jeffrey B. Ruffino, 22, of Country Side Lane, according to police, came into McDonald’s on South Main Street where he formerly worked and ordered a Chicken Classic without tomatoes. The cashier said he came back to the counter and banged the box to get her attention, the report says.

Ruffino yelled, “where is my bacon and cheese?” and the cashier, the report says, told him next time he should order a Club Meal, but she would give him the right one. Before she finished speaking, the report says, Ruffino cut her off and threw the chicken sandwich at her, hitting her shoulder, and ran out. Surveillance video confirmed her story, police say.

He was charged with breach of peace.
