PD: Man's Expletive-Laden Note to Aggravating Neighbor Lands Him in Jail

Middletown Police say the 22-year-old who threatened his neighbor with a harassment charge over noises preventing him from sleeping ended up arrested for that same offense.

The following police reports come from the Middletown Police public information officer. Individuals named here reflect charges filed, never a conviction.

A city man, so peeved at noises he says came from his neighbor's apartment that prevented him from getting a good night's rest, was arrested after placing a threatening note under the victim's door, according to Middletown Police.

On Nov. 20 at 7:53 p.m., police were called to a Highland Avenue apartment for a harassment complaint about Charles F. Stack, 22, of Highland Avenue, who, according to the report, told officers he wrote a note and placed it under the door of his neighbor.

The report indicates the victim, his fiancé and her 6-year-old child were eating dinner at 6:30 p.m. when they saw a note being slipped under the door, which read, "If your stupid little [expletive] girlfriend does not stop banging on my wall, you [three expletives], I'm calling the police and reporting that you're harassing me. Anything to say, I'm in apartment S1, if not stay the [expletive] away from me."

Stack admitted to detectives that he'd made a mistake in writing the note but he has not been able to sleep because of the knocking, the report says.
