PD: Man in Stable Condition After Being Hit by Officer's Motorcycle

Middletown Police say a 56-year-old man and police officer were injured in the crash Thursday night on Saybrook Road.

A 56-year-old Middletown man is in stable condition at Hartford Hospital after a 13-year city police officer on motorcycle collided with him Thursday on Saybrook Road.

Just before 8 p.m., officer Peter Botsacos was driving south on Saybrook Road near Windy Hill Drive as Donald E. Wilson, 56, left the Grog Shop parking lot on foot toward his Windy Hill Drive home, according to the press release.

Lifestar was called to the area in front of the Grog Shop.

Wilson was brought to Hartford Hospital and is listed in stable condition. Botsacos was treated and released from Hartford Hospital, according to the report.

The accident is still under investigation and anyone who may have witnessed the accident is asked to contact Officer Doug Clark of the Traffic Unit at (860) 638-4064.
