A 30-year-old Hartford man is facing heroin possession charges after Middletown Police report he made a loud public disturbance while experiencing heroin withdrawal.
On Aug. 6 at 12:44 p.m., Michael Potvin of Sheldon Street, Hartford, was walking on the street at Old Mill Road and Belvedere Terrace, where police were called about a man walking down the street yelling, the report says.
At Veteran's Park, officers say, he was extremely uncooperative and indicated to them that his behavior was related to heroin withdrawal.
The report says a search revealed four small bags of a brownish substance which tested positive for heroin totaling .9 grams.
Potvin was sent to Middlesex Hospital by ambulance for detoxification.
He was charged with breach of peace and possession of controlled substances.
