PD: Felon Entered Home While Couple Showered, Demanded Money

Middletown Police say a North Carolina man with a history of petty crimes and drug charges slapped the woman and told her to be quiet, likely indicating his business was with the man.

A 48-year-old North Carolina man who's served jail time on minor crimes and assaults entered the home of a couple while they were showering and shocked them by demanding money owed to him, according to Middletown Police.

On Dec. 16 at 7:59 p.m, police were called to an apartment on Newfield Street by a couple who say Steven E. Holloman, 48, of no certain address, entered their home while they were both in the shower and demanded money owed to him by the man, according to the report.

The couple quickly got dressed then began yelling at Holloman, who is 6-feet-tall, to leave the house, according to the report. He countered by telling the woman to shut up and "mind your own [expletive] business," then slapped her in the temple, police say.

On Dec. 3, Holloman was arrested for disorderly conduct and third-degree assault after reportedly assaulting a woman and taking her purse at a Grand Street apartment building, according to police. The report says Holloman, who is her former boyfriend, put a knife to her side and punched her in the mouth.

Last year, Holloman was stopped by police while driving a Honda Accord without a front plate. The report says both the passenger and driver appeared to be hiding something. In the center console, a Newport cigarette box was found with a glass pipe with copper inside and police say Holloman admitted it was his.

He has record of multiple convictions for larcenies, failure to appears, assaults, narcotics possession and paraphernalia from 2006 to the present.
