PD: Intoxicated Men Tried to Force Their Way Into Wesleyan Dorm

Middletown Police say these are the same twenty-somethings who were apprehended after shooting Wesleyan University students with an airsoft gun from their car.

The following police reports are obtained directly from the Middletown Police public information officer and inclusion on this list reflect charges filed, not convictions.

Two city men face trespassing charges after trying to force their way into a Wesleyan dormitory after being warned not to return after shooting students with an airsoft gun, according to Middletown Police.

On Sept. 22 at 2:15 a.m., Michael J. Niro, 21, of Butternut Street arrived at the Wesleyan University campus dormitory Butterfield C on Lawn Avenue with his friend, Michael Ugolik, 22, of Durwin Street after drinking at Mezzo Grille on Court Street, according to the report.

Police say Michael Ugolik, who was very intoxicated, insulted Wesleyan students with a homophobic slur.

Ugolik tried to enter the dorm, but was prevented by students, and then threw a bottle on the doorstep, police indicate. Both men had been arrested for trespassing on campus in the past, the report says, for shooting students with an airsoft gun from a car.
