OPERATION MOTOR VEHICLE UNDER SUSPENSION — On March 14 at 1:22 a.m., Catherine E. Flannigan, 41, of Bow Lane was driving on Eastern Drive.
SECOND-DEGREE FAILURE TO APPEAR — On March 14 at 7:30 a.m., Jem Jordan, 25, of Otis Street, Hartford, turned himself in on an outstanding warrant.
THIRD-DEGREE SEXUAL ASSAULT — On March 13, Jeffrey M. Fine, 65, of Fairview Street, Portland, was arrested by the special investigations unit on an outstanding warrant.
ILLEGAL POSSESSION NARCOTICS — On March 11, Lloyd E. Gibson, 56, of Braeburn Lane was arrested on an outstanding warrant when police found he had a bag of cocaine, .03 grams, in his jacket pocket.
SECOND-DEGREE FAILURE TO APPEAR — On March 11 at 12:08 a.m., Michelle L. Salafia, 35, of Adna Road, Bristol, was at Spring Street and Rome Avenue and told officers she was in a fistfight with someone over Facebook comments. She was found with an active warrant from Bristol.
POSSESSION NARCOTICS, POSSESSION LESS THAN HALF-OUNCE MARIJUANA — On March 10 at 8:32 a.m., Demetrius M. Love, 28, of Meetinghouse Lane was driving a Chevrolet Caprice on Main Street at Kings Avenue without a seatbelt or front plate. The officer smelled marijuana and Love turned over a small bag of marijuana, 9.3 grams, inside which was a smaller bag of white powdered cocaine, 1 gram.
OPERATION MOTOR VEHICLE WHILE LICENSE IS SUSPENDED — On March 9, Michelle M. Cherry, 31, of Grand Street was driving on Main Street with multiple objects hanging from her mirror and a license suspended since June 11.
IMPROPER USE MARKER PLATE, INSURANCE COVERAGE FAILS MINIMUM, OPERATE UNREGISTERED MOTOR VEHICLE — On March 9, Brandy L. Donohue, 32, Rattling Valley, Deep River, was driving on Spring Street with a left brake light out. The plate belonged on another vehicle.
INSURANCE COVERAGE FAILS MINIMUM, OPERATE UNREGISTERED MOTOR VEHICLE — On March 9, Peter A. Rhinesmith, 29, of Linnmore Drive, Manchester, was driving on Pleasant Street with a right brake light out, registration that expired Dec. 11, 2010, and insurance expired Oct. 15, 2010.
POSSESSION NARCOTICS, DRINKING WHILE DRIVING, FAILURE TO OBEY CONTROL SIGNAL, OPERATING CELL WHILE DRIVING, OPERATION MOTOR VEHICLE WITH SUSPENDED LICENSE — On March 8, Rogers B. Askew of Rogers Road was driving a Toyota Camry and took a left turn at a red light on Church Street onto Vine. Askew, police say, was talking on the cell phone. Behind the passenger seat was an open, cold 24-ounce can of beer. A search revealed a folded dollar bill with cocaine inside, .1 gram of cocaine.
SECOND-DEGREE BREACH OF PEACE — On March 7 at 10:46 a.m., police were called to a home on Frazier Avenue for a disturbance. Brandon T. Guimares, 22, of Walnut Street and another man were still fighting verbally with another man standing off in the distance, police say. Guimares, who police say was intoxicated, started acting agitated and uncontrolled while the other two men calmed down. He sat on the curb then as more people were attracted to the scene, he started yelling, swearing and racially insulting bystanders and officers; all the while inciting the crowd to yell at officers. One bystander said he was going to spit on a cruiser, the report says, and Guimares insulted a bystander’s weight and race, which shocked the man, causing him to leave quickly, police say. Police say he has a record including disorderly conduct, first- and third-degree robbery, two counts first-degree assault, and three counts breach of peace.
