A 49-year-old convicted felon walking by a north end bar helped himself to a patron's beer on the outdoor patio — and took of with the $10 "signature" glass, according to Middletown Police.

On July 27 at 5:46 p.m., police on foot patrol on Main and Ferry streets heard the owner of the yelling and pointing toward Joseph Maberry, 49, of Erin Street, saying he stole a glass, the report says.

"Officers are very familiar with Maberry as he has been causing problems on Main Street," the report says. The owner testified that Maberry had grabbed a drink in a $10 signature glass from a customer on his outdoor patio and drank from it.
