PD: Felon With Long Record Stole $37 Worth of Razor Blades

Middletown Police say a 55-year-old city man with 30 arrests was arrested in late July for a similar crime: stoplifting men's running shoes from Bob's Stores.

On Oct. 6 at 11:59 a.m., police were called to Walgreens on East Main Street for a shoplifter, Michael Dascanio, 55, of Russell Street, who had been held by store security in the parking lot. According to the report, a female clerk saw Dascanio put razor blades into his pockets, went to the pharmacy area, then returned to place more razor blades in his pockets.

Police say the manager confronted Dascanio and told him to return the blades, to which he responded by throwing a pack of razor blades on the floor and walk out. A search revealed $36.67 worth of razor blades still in his pockets, the report indicates.
