PD: Coke-Dealing Duo Pinched Driving Car With Bad Headlight

Middletown Police say a Higganum man and homeless man on parole with a GPS ankle bracelet, found with 17 grams of crack cocaine and marijuana, alerted officers to another car with more coke inside.

SECOND-DEGREE FAILURE TO APPEAR — On April 10, Melody Page, 42, of Boston Post Road, Westbrook, turned herself in on an outstanding warrant from Connecticut State Police Troop F.

SECOND-DEGREE FAILURE TO APPEAR — On April 10, Ikeem K. McDaniel, 24, of Grand Street turned himself in on an outstanding warrant.

DISORDERLY CONDUCT — On April 9, Yannick Williams, 21, of Forest Street had engaged in threatening behavior, slapping a ceramic plate out of the hand of the victim whom he lives with, during an argument.

DISTRIBUTION AND POSSESSION OF CONTROLLED SUBSTANCE WITH INTENT TO SELL WITHIN 1,500 FEET OF SCHOL, NON-STUDENT POSSESSING DRUGS AND DRUG PARAPHERNALIA NEAR SCHOOL — On April 9 at 5:40 p.m., Guy Hall, 21, of Foothills Road, Higganum, was driving a Honda Civic with only one brake light on Prospect Street. When pulled over, police say, Hartzell said it wasn’t his car and had a glass pipe with marijuana inside and baggie with marijuana. The passenger, Jacob Hartzell, 19, of no certain address, said he was on parole and had an ankle bracelet. Inside the car, the report says, were two baggies with cocaine inside and another with Inositol, used for cutting cocaine. In the visor above the driver, police found several baggies of cocaine and sandwich bags on the floor of the car. Hall’s cell phone, police say, was actively receiving text messages asking for “coke.” Hartzell’s had messages, including, “that’s a lot of coke.” Police say Hartzell admitted his car was in Veteran’s Park and had more cocaine in it. There, officers found, a bag of cocaine and a CVS bottle of 100 empty Inositol capsules. Hartzell told officers, the report says, he was selling to support his habit. The total amount of cocaine was 17 grams and the marijuana totaled 3.5 grams. Both were charged with the above.

SECOND-DEGREE BREACH OF PEACE — On April 9 at 6 p.m., police received a call from a victim, who said Paula Simmons, 37, of East Main Street had walked up to him on the street and called him racial slurs repeatedly, took a swing at him then “mushed” his face with an open hand, the report says. His friends attested to his story and added Simmons had called him a drug dealer. Another witness said she looked “very violent and upset” and argued with everyone in the parking lot. Simmons told officers the victim had “got in her face” and she pushed him away.

SECOND-DEGREE FAILURE TO APPEAR — On April 9 at 12:30 p.m., Edgar M. Torres, 23, of Missal Avenue, Bristol, turned himself in on an outstanding warrant.

INSURANCE FRAUD, INTENT TO COMMIT CRIME — On April 9 at 12:30 p.m., Charlston Austin, 25, of Russet Lane was at the Bristol Police Department being held on an outstanding warrant.

USING ROAD INSTEAD OF SIDEWALK, INTERFERING WITH OFFICER, TRESPASS — On April 7 at 11:21 p.m., Terrance Harding, 45, of Johnson Street was seen by police walking on Grand Street and when he saw them turned an about face and walked quickly away. The report says Grand and Pearl streets and Clinton Avenue is “an area of high illegal drug activity.” Police trailed Harding as he walked in the road toward Clinton Avenue and started jogging; when they yelled, “hey!” he ran, the report says. They pursued him to 12 Clinton Avenue and saw a man they were investigating for illegal narcotics sale stand on the front porch, the report says. When told he was trespassing, Harding said to the man, “you know me,” police say, but the man said he didn’t. At headquarters, the report says, Harding said he ran just as he saw police because “he remembered that he forgot some keys from a family member’s” house and was walking off an earlier argument with  his girlfriend. His record includes assault on personnel, possession of narcotics, tampering with evidence, possession of drug paraphernalia and interfering.

FIRST-DEGREE CRIMINAL TRESPASS, BREACH OF PEACE — On April 7 at 7:12 p.m., police on patrol saw three Middlesex Hospital security guards stopping a male at Crescent Street and Main Street Extension. Christopher Katrib, 30, of Labella Circle, who officers say came from the Eddy Shelter intoxicated and unconscious, was told 30 times to leave the hospital property and wouldn’t. Police, the report says, smelled alcohol on Katrib and he was staggering. He told them he was uncooperative because he just woke up and didn’t want to be poked with needles.

SIXTH-DEGREE LARCENY — On April 6, Jerome Bruton, 24, of Plaza Drive was at the Berlin Police Department being held on an outstanding warrant.

INTERFERING WITH OFFICER — On April 2 at 7:47 p.m., Joseph J. Cirone, 48, of no known address crossed Main Street at Green outside the crosswalk. He gave police a fake name, the report says. He was found with an outstanding warrant from Wethersfield.

INSURANCE COVERAGE FAILS MINIMUM, OPERATE UNREGISTERED VEHICLE — On March 31 at 9:02 p.m., Mary Rivers, 31, of Ferry Street was driving a Toyota XD on Pearl Street with an expired registration. Officers smelled marijuana and found a baggie of marijuana on the passenger, 7.5 grams. The passenger was given a ticket.

ATTEMPT TO COMMIT CRIME, POSSESSION NARCOTICS — On March 31 at 12:49 p.m., Raeshon K. Daniels, 30, of Town Brooke met officers on a drug sting, the report says, offering a $200 for $80 of crack. He was carrying a small pocket knife and the Bob’s card. Records show he has convictions for possession of narcotics, two for possession of drug paraphernalia and one for possession with intent to sell, one for misrepresentation of a controlled substance and three probation violations.
