Police: Man Who Claimed Girlfriend Brandished Knife Used it to Unlock Door

Middletown Police say a 46-year-old city resident who called 911 on his girlfriend was the one who broke the law by playing loud music and locking her out of the bedroom.

A 46-year-old Saybrook Road man who called 911 about his girlfriend threatening him with a knife was arrested after Middletown Police say he locked her out of her room and played music excessively loud.

On Sept. 2 at 3:47 a.m., police were called to Saybrook Road on a domestic assault in which a male caller said his girlfriend pulled a knife on him. Anthony Ray, 46, of Saybrook Road, according to the report, told them he was asleep when his girlfriend got on top of him and made a motion like she was going to stab him.

“She adamantly denied threatening him with the knife,” the report says, and she told officers that Ray came home highly intoxicated from the bar.

They both admitted to using a knife to open their locked bedroom door.

Ray was charged with breach of peace.
