Middletown's Finest Welcome Three New Officers

Andrew Wasilewski, James Remotti and Eric Sanford have begun five months of training at the Connecticut Police Academy.

The Middletown Police Department swore in three new officers Thursday at .

Andrew Wasilewski, 27, is a project engineer for Newfield Construction Co. in Hartford. He has a bachelor’s degree in construction management from Central Connecticut State University. He is still enrolled at CCSU, seeking a master’s degree in construction management.

James Remotti, 29, is employed at O&M Inc. in Windsor, where he works as an environmental technician. Remotti has completed his associates degree at Manchester Community College, majoring in criminal justice. He has also attended the University of New Haven. Additional studies were completed online at the University of Phoenix toward his goal of achieving bachelor’s degree. Remotti has multiple certifications as a firefighter.

Eric Sanford, 25, works For ING retirement Services as a retirement services specialist and the Middletown YMCA as a youth mentor and has a history of working as a substitute teacher in the Middletown Public Schools. Sanford has a bachelor’s degree from CCSU and majored in criminal justice.  

All three applicants passed their background checks with flying colors and were recommended by those interviewed during the process. They entered the Connecticut Police Academy Friday and need to complete 818 hours (five months) of training before graduating.

Upon graduation, the new officers will complete the Field Training Officer program before being assigned to the Patrol Division as a fully certified police officer.
