Several Injured in 2-Car Route 17; Road Reopened

Several people, including a pair of 5-year-olds, were injured in a two-car crash that closed Route 17 for about two hours Wednesday morning.

According to The Hartford Courant, Lt. Heather Desmond said none of the injuries were life-threatening. One vehicle had teenagers in it and the second car had a pair of 5-year-olds among its occupants, Desmond said.

Route 17 near Wesleyan Hills Road and Brush Hill Road was closed for nearly two hours.

NBC Connecticut is reporting that Route 17 in Middletown is closed between Wesleyan Hills Road and Brush Hill Road because of a multi-vehicle crash that occurred Wednesday morning.

Information on whether there are any injuries was not immediately available. An NBC Connecticut photo of the scene shows at least two badly damaged vehicles in the roadway.
