Middletown Police Officer Injured After Being Dragged By a Car

The officer was dragged down Grand Street Tuesday night.

A Middletown police officer was injured when he was dragged by a car down Grand Street Tuesday evening, the Middletown Press reports.

Police say Joseph Nevico, 23,  was told to pull over for a traffic stop because he didn’t have a license plate on the front of his car. He did come to a stop and as detectives approached the car he allegedly refused to exit, the Middletown Press reports.

The detective got part of his body into the car but Nevico took off down Grand Street dragging the officer, police said. The detective was finally able to get inside the vehicle and after Nevico hit two parked cars he was taken into custody, the Press reports.
