PD: Fight Over Towels Turns Violent as Man Punches Wife in Face

Middletown Police say a 43-year-old Traverse Square resident slugged his wife.

INSURANCE COVERAGE FAILS MINIMUM — On Jan. 26 at 1:30 a.m., Stephen V. Vesce, 26, of Yale Avenue, Wallingford, was transported to Middletown Police from Berlin Police after a motor vehicle stop.

DISORDERLY CONDUCT — On Jan. 26 at 10:52 a.m., Anthony Shannon, 43, of Traverse Square was at the scene of a domestic assault call. The victim said her husband, Shannon, had punched her in the face several times and left. Police found him at William and Broad streets. The victim said he had lied to her and a fight ensued over some bathroom towels. Police say they have been married under one year and have no children; and Shannon stayed at his mother’s house in Windsor.

SECOND-DEGREE FORGERY — On Jan. 25, Joseph Pollio, 29, of Morse Place, New Haven was arrested.

SECOND-DEGREE FAILURE TO APPEAR — On Jan. 25 at 8:30 a.m., Jason Brown, 37, of Walnut Street turned himself in on an outstanding warrant.

THREE COUNTS SECOND-DEGREE FAILURE TO APPEAR — On Jan. 24 at 5:20 p.m. Adam Cambreleng, 21, of Quarry Hill Road, Haddam Neck, turned himself into police on three warrants.

IMPROPER USE MARKER PLATE, INSURANCE FAILS MINIMUM — On Jan. 13 at 10:50 a.m., Jose DeJesus, 53, of Meetinghouse Lane was driving a Pontiac Sunfire on Warwick Street. DeJesus told the officer he just bought the car and didn’t have the funds to register or insure it and used a plate from his old car on it.

OPERATE UNREGISTERED VEHICLE, AND IN VIOLATION OF LICENSE CLASSIFICATION, INSURANCE COVERAGE FAILS MINIMUM — On Jan. 15 at 5:06 p.m., Woodard H. Roberts, Jr., 50, of Prospect Place, Cromwell, was driving a Ford Taurus on Grand Street.

FAILURE TO HAVE LIGHTS ILLUMINATED, POSSESSION OF LESS THAN ONE-HALF OUNCE CANNIBIS — On Jan. 15 at 6:26 p.m., James B. Askew, 33, of Green Street was driving a Honda Odyssey on Pearl Street then turn onto Liberty Street. The officer smelled marijuana in the car and Askew admitted to having a half-ounce in his sweatshirt pocket. Police also found a grinder, each with a half-ounce of pot inside.

OPERATION MOTOR VEHICLE WHEN REGISTRATION AND LICENSE SUSPENDED — On Jan. 16 at 7:38 p.m., Teresa Hernandez, 30, of Broad Street, Meriden, was driving a Honda CRV on Main Street. She told police she was just taking her children to the movies.

OPERATION MOTOR VEHICLE WHEN LICENSE SUSPENDED — On Jan. 16 at 8:36 p.m., Robert Moran, 42, of Newfield Street was driving a Jeep Cherokee on Main Street Extension and made an unsafe right turn onto the Route 17 connector, police say. He said he turned quickly because he saw police behind him after he was stopped.
