Middletown Man Killed in Car Crash on Route 15

A 29-year-old Middletown man was killed early Saturday morning when he was struck by oncoming traffic after being ejected from his car in an accident on Route 15 in Orange.

The man was identified as Shamar Brooks, of Middletown, according to Fox Connecticut. Two passengers in his car — one from Meriden and the other from West Haven — were transported to the hospital, Fox reported, citing Connecticut State Police.

The police report states that Brooks was not wearing his seatbelt at the time.

Route 15 northbound was closed for about six hours while police investigated — from about 2:30 a.m. to 8:30 a.m.
