Middletown Couple Arrested After Fight Stemming From Woman's Sexual Frustration: Cops

Middletown Police report the following arrests through June 27.

Connecticut State Police, Troop F, Westbrook, report the following arrests:

NOT HAVING DRIVERS LICENSE, TRAVELING TOO FAST FOR CONDITIONS — On June 23 at 2:59 a.m., Edward R. Goralnik Jr., 18, of Valley Drive, Middletown, was driving a 2002 Honda on Route 9 south one-tenth of a mile south of Exit 10 in Haddam with a passenger, Gregory Margison of End Ave Durham, 20. He lost control due to deer in the road and struck a tree head-on. Goralnik is wanted by Orange Police.

SECOND-DEGREE FORGERY — On June 23 at 5:30 p.m., Michael Samuels, 20, of Ballfall Road turned himself into Middletown Police for an outstanding warrant from Feb. 18. He was turned over to Westbrook

FIRST-DEGREE FAILURE TO APPEAR — On June 27, Nelson Soto, 58, of no certain address turned himself in on an outstanding warrant stemming from a May 12 incident on deKoven Drive

FIRST-DEGREE CRIMINAL TRESPASS, SIXTH-DEGREE LARCENY, SIMPLE TRESPASS — On June 27, police were called to Johnson Street on a report of three males on the train tracks with air conditioners. Two of the three were found on Stack Street: Joseph Kelsey, 19, of West Street and Dillon S. Cefarelli, 18, of West Street. The witness showed up for work at 7 a.m. at the Middletown recycling center and saw them with air conditioners from the center. He confronted them and they walked away. One had two drills and a crowbar and said there are copper wire and radiators in the units, which have value. He took a picture of one with his cell phone. The two admitted stealing the items. Kelsey said the other man didn’t know anything about the plan and was just driving with them. He said his friend is on probation and doesn’t want to get him in trouble.

THIRD-DEGREE CRIMINAL MISCHIEF, THIRD-DEGREE ASSAULT — On June 26, Christopher C. Mauri, 26, of Summer Hill Road was arrested after his girlfriend walked into police headquarters saying he had assaulted her and broken her cell phone. Earlier in they day they had gone to the beach with friends when on the way home he got upset she was not standing with him at the bar. While they argued in the car he punched her with a closed fist in the eye. Police saw the eye was swollen and blue. Mauri said he didn’t punch her but pushed her away. He admitted throwing her cell phone.

CRIMINAL VIOLATION OF PROTECTIVE ORDER, THIRD-DEGREE ASSAULT, DISORDERLY CONDUCT — On June 26, William King, 45, of Grand Street turned himself into police for a domestic dispute. The victim said they live together and she moved the air mattress into the bedroom at 6 a.m. and he began screaming at her. She said he had hit her in the nose the night before and kicked her in the stomach and stepped on her head. He held her by the hair and punched her in the back of the head. She sat up and he punched her in the forehead. Williams denied hitting her.

POSSESSION UNDER 4 OZ MARIJUANA, INTERFERING WITH OFFICER — On June 26, an informant said people at the corner of Pearl and Liberty were waiting to buy crack cocaine and two males in a gray car were delivering it. Police saw the people in the driveway of a home on Pearl talking to two men standing by a gray car. Josue Colon, 29, of Babcock Street, Hartford, was seen in the car and officers smelled marijuana. He refused to get inside the car and was Tasered. He refused to sign his fingerprint cards.

CRIMINAL VIOLATION OF PROTECTIVE ORDER — On June 25, a resident on Newfield Street called to say she was worried about her home since her sister overheard her husband talking about going to her house and breaking a window. Christopher D. James, 41, of Batt Street was found seated on the front steps and began walking away when police arrived. 

DISORDERLY CONDUCT — On June 25, Dolores Ereshena, 20, of McKenna Drive was at the report of a domestic violence incident, crying with red marks on her arm. She said she picked up her intoxicated husband, Larry Floyd, 29, at a friend’s house and they got into a heated argument over his drinking. At home, he said he was leaving and she tried to stop him by grabbing him. He grabbed her arm and left. She got into her car to follow him and he damaged the passenger door. He confirmed her story but said she had grabbed at his chest and scratched him. Police saw the marks so both were arrested.

SECOND-DEGREE FAILURE TO APPEAR — On June 25, Jessica Bersing, 28, of Rapallo Avenue was arrested on an outstanding warrant out of Naugatuck.

SECOND-DEGREE BREACH OF PEACE — On June 25, Silvana C. Gerrish, 30, of Green Street was in a fight and threw a can of beer in the face of her live-in boyfriend. She was intoxicated and uncooperative.

CRIMINAL VIOLATION OF PROTECTIVE ORDER — On June 25, Richard J. Lazine, 22, of Town Colony Drive was found in the apartment with his girlfriend, hiding in the closet.

DISORDERLY CONDUCT — On June 24, Sophia Flores, 23, of Trolley Crossing Drive called police saying she was arguing with her boyfriend, Kawan, W. Jordan, 27, and she picked up a glass of juice and threw the contents at him while he was on the coach. Jordan got up and hit her on the top of the head with his fist and grabbed her by both arms. She then grabbed his shirt. Jordan said she was nagging at him for three hours about not working. She said she was sexually frustrated because they had not had sex in a month. He called her mother and stepfather to come over to calm her down. When they left she began arguing about him paying bills. Both were arrested.
