Middletown Arrests: to Aug. 1-9

The following information was provided by the Middletown Police Department’s public information officer. An arrest does not constitute a conviction and all defendants are innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.

SECOND-DEGREE FAILURE TO APPEAR — On Aug. 9 at 6:49 a.m., Nicole Patterson, 23, of Main Street turned herself in on an outstanding warrant

SECOND-DEGREE FAILURE TO APPEAR — On Aug. 8 at 2 p.m., Pedro Hernandez, 30, of Washington Street turned himself into police for an outstanding warrant from Cromwell.

SIXTH-DEGREE LARCENY, CREDIT CARD THEFT BY TRANSFER, ILLEGAL USE OF A CREDIT CARD — On Aug. 7, Krystal Rivera, 21, of Main Street, was seen walking on Main Street by an officer, who knew she had an outstanding warrant.

PASSING ON THE RIGHT, SPEEDING VIOLATION — On Aug. 6 at 5:08 p.m., Ryan S. Carey, 20, of Church Hill Road, Haddam, was seen by an officer driving on Washington Street near Custom Carpets and aggressively pass another car taking a left-hand turn by speeding at 75mph in a 35mph zone, the report says. Carey admitted to police he was frustrated with the traffic delay and was cut off moments before, police say.

OPERATION MOTOR VEHICLE WITHOUT MINIMUM INSURANCE — On Aug. 6 at 6:56 p.m., Richard A. Giuffrida, 33, of South Street, Cromwell, was driving a Chevrolet Silverado on Liberty Street and was seen by an officer not stopping at the stop sign, the report says. He was found with an active warrant and had Suoxone without a prescription. His passenger, the report says, was charged with intent to sell Oxycodone.

OPERATE UNREGISTERED VEHICLE, IMPROPER USE MARKER PLATE, INSURANCE COVERAGE FAILS MINIMUM — On Aug. 1 at 9:18 p.m., Jocelyn L. Cote, 24, of Airline Avenue, Portland, was seen driving a Ford Focus on Washington and Broad street. She told officers she recently had the transmission repaired and was "test driving it" to a friend's house, the report says, and planned on registering it the following day.
