Middletown Arrests: Nov. 6-14

The following police reports come from the Middletown Police public information officer. Individuals named here reflect charges filed, never a conviction.

Middletown Police report the following incidents:

Nov. 14

VIOLATION OF PROTECTIVE ORDER — At 8:33 p.m., police were called to Hotchkiss Street about Jose A. Perez, 27, of Hotchkiss Street who was in a verbal dispute with a person whom had a protective order against him, according to the report.

THIRD-DEGREE ASSAULT, SECOND-DEGREE BREACH OF PEACE — At 7:26 p.m., police were called to Main Street where Jakese G. Sessoms, 38, of Spencer Drive was reportedly hitting a woman, but when officers arrived he told them he was a witness. According to the report, the victim said Sessoms, who had threatened her that he would slap her the next time he saw her, crossed the street and got ready to spit at her. The victim told officers she pulled out a can of mace and sprayed him which didn't prevent him from grabbing her by the coat, dragging her and punching her head.

EVADING RESPONSIBILITY — At 11:30 a.m., Debra Flynn, 58, of High Street was picked up on an outstanding warrant.

Nov. 11

INSURANCE COVERAGE FAILS MINIMUM, LICENSE SUSPENDED — Antonyo B. Streater, 23, of Basset Street, New Haven, was driving on Grand Street without a seat belt.

SECOND-DEGREE FAILURE TO APPEAR — Nicholas R. Johnson, 22, of Barbara Road was picked up on an outstanding warrant.

FIRST-DEGREE CRIMINAL TRESPASS — Police were called to a home on Highmeadow Lane about a man who said he pulled out a legally owned Smith & Wesson .40 M&P Shield pistol and pointed it at his "associate" Paul Cubeta, 43, of Jefferson Avenue, who refused to leave his property after a dispute over money, according to the report. The man told officers Cubeta owes $255 to a student away at college whom he looks after like a little brother, according to police, and the two of them sent texts to each other about meeting. The report details one from the man saying he's in bed and he'll stop by Cubeta's house in the morning to which Cubeta responded by accusing the man of having an "illegal gun."

The report says Cubeta threatened to "end" the victim if he asked about the money again and the victim made gestures and comments including, "I got a glock and I'll do whatever I got to do." Police say Cubeta implied he had a weapon in his pocket and the men struggled and threatened each other some more.

Nov. 9

DUI, FAILURE TO CARRY LICENSE — At 11:01 p.m., Joel R. Nann, 58, of Summerhill Road was in a Kia parked in front of a home on Stoneycrest Drive and, according to the report, was intoxicated and discovered slumped being the wheel. When officers arrived, they found Nann standing at the driver's side door puling up his pants and getting back behind the wheel after reportedly urinating by his rear tire. Nann, who smelled of alcohol, the report says, failed a sobriety test and his blood alcohol content registered .232 and .223.

FAILURE TO DISPLAY PLATES, UNREGISTERED VEHICLE, INSURANCE COVERAGE FAILS MINIMUM — At 7:02 p.m., Matthew Dennehey, 21, of Samuel Arnold Road, Haddam Neck, was driving a Honda Civic on Eagle Hollow Drive and Tuttle Road, according to the report, without a front license plate.

Nov. 8

DUI — At 4:55 p.m., Susan E. Wilton, 56, of Footit Drive was driving a Nissan Sentra in the wrong lane on Footit Drive and Atkins Street, according to the report, and admitted to drinking two small bottles of wine. She failed a sobriety test, police say, and her blood alcohol levels were .103 and .093.

EVADING RESPONSIBILITY, FAILURE TO DRIVE AT REASONABLE DISTANCE — At 2:35 p.m., Steven R. Hotchkiss, 49, of Perry Road, Hamden, turned himself in on an outstanding warrant.

Nov. 7

IMPROPER USE MARKER PLATE, OPERATION MOTOR VEHICLE IN VIOLATION OF LICENSE CLASSIFICATION — At 5:25 p.m., Arthur C. Flejszar, 19, of Juniper Hill Court, Cromwell, was driving a Mazda Miata on Main and College streets with plates that belonged to an Audi.

Nov. 6

SECOND-DEGREE FAILURE TO APPEAR — At 10:44 p.m., Akeema S. Richards, 21, of Olive Street, New Britain, was driving a Honda CR-V on Grand Street without a front plate. According to the report she continued driving then parked and walked away. When stopped, Richards was found to have an outstanding warrant from New Haven.
