Middletown Arrests: Nov. 21 to Dec. 6

The following police reports come from the Middletown Police public information officer. Individuals named here reflect charges filed, never a conviction.

Middletown Police report the following incidents:

Dec. 6

DISORDERLY CONDUCT — Police were called to the home of Eugene Chamblee, 47, of Wall Street at 3:29 a.m., where they saw him, with clenched fists, looking about ready to assault a female, according to the report. Chamblee was highly intoxicated and belligerent, police say, and told them he had smoked crack cocaine. The report says he was taken to Middlesex Hospital for an emergency committal.

Dec. 5

DISORDERLY CONDUCT — At 9:25 p.m., Donald Hassmann, 37, of Silver Street was at the Gilead group home and fought with another resident, according to the report, over a video game.

DISORDERLY CONDUCT — Eric Roche, 20, of Burgundy Hill Lane fought with his ex-girlfriend over items in the apartment, according to the report, ordered the victim to leave and threw her clothes outside then slammed her on the ground several times. The report says the victim said Roche often hit her and there was still blood on the bathroom wall from when he slammed her against it. He told officers they couldn't enter then said she refuses to move out. Police found drops of blood in the bathroom, according to the statement, and the entire apartment in disarray.

Dec. 4

POSSESSION WITH INTENT TO SELL — At 1:16 a.m., Michael S. Samuels, 23, of Ballfall Road was driving a Dodge Intrepid on Town Colony Drive and when stopped his car smelled of marijuana, according to the report. A search revealed 13 ziplock bags with 9.4 grams of marijuana inside and $260 in cash.

Dec. 3

THIRD-DEGREE ASSAULT — Joel Marin, 19, of Green Street assaulted his mother's boyfriend, Alfredo Morales, 37, of Pratt Street, Meriden the report says, to prevent her from being injured; his mother confirmed the account. Police say Marin defended his mother but had done so excessively by cutting his eye and injuring his nose. Morales, the report says, verbally berated the victim, ripped curtains and broke a vacuum cleaner. Both were charged with the above and Morales additionally for disorderly conduct. 

VIOLATION PROTECTIVE ORDER — At 3:45 p.m., Robert E. Flynn, 56, of College Street argued with his girlfriend.

DISORDERLY CONDUCT, THIRD-DEGREE ASSAULT — At 5:56 p.m., police were called about Steven E. Holloman, 48, homeless, who assaulted a woman and took her purse at a Grand Street apartment building, according to police. The report says Holloman, who is her former boyfriend, put a knife to her side and punched her in the mouth and the victim smelled of alcohol. Police say he also smelled of alcohol and said he had two nips and was found with the knife; the woman said she's fearful he could kill her. Throughout booking, police say, he called police derogatory and racist names and refused to sign forms. 

Nov. 30

SUSPENDED LICENSE – Carl B. Moore, 26, of Maple Street was given an infraction.

Nov. 29

CRIMINAL IMPERSONATION, LICENSE SUSPENDED, CELL PHONE WHILE DRIVING, CHILD UNSECURED IN CAR, INTERFERING WITH OFFICER — Ashlun M. Stuckey, 37, of Rose Circle turned himself in on an outstanding warrant.  

Nov. 23

TWO COUNTS SIXTH-DEGREE LARCENY, CREDIT CARD THEFT AND ILLEGAL USE OF CREDIT CARD — At 307 p.m., Cheryl A. Russin, 55, of Silver Street reportedly shoplifted from Rite Aid on Main Street and was found with an outstanding warrant. She took a men's watch without paying, police say, because she wanted to give it to her boyfriend for his birthday, apologized and said she doesn't have a job.

DUI, FAILURE TO HAVE LIGHTS LIT — At 2:32 a.m., Anthony Castro, 26, of Unionport Road, Bronx, N.Y., was driving a Nissan Maxima on Washington Street without his lights on, the report says, and told police he had just left Mezzo Grill after having two drinks. Police say he smelled of alcohol and was unsteady on his feet then failed sobriety tests. 

Nov. 21

RISK OF INJURY — At 2:38 p.m., police found an unsupervised child at Grove and Stack streets and the landlord said the child was running around inside the apartments, according to the report, and a search revealed the father, Oscar M. Ortega, 28, of Grove Street, had fallen asleep with his son next to him. The weather, police say, was between 30 and 40 degrees outside and the boy was only in pajamas. The child's mother returned from her doctor's appointment, the report says, and took the boy.
