Middletown Arrests: May 18-22

The following police reports are obtained from the Middletown Police public information officer and inclusion on this list reflect charges filed, not convictions.

Middletown Police report the following incidents:

May 22
SECOND-DEGREE FAILURE TO APPEAR — At 2:30 a.m., Ashuandelle Jackson, 21, of Rose Circle turned himself in on an outstanding warrant. 

BREACH OF PEACE, DISORDERLY CONDUCT — At 7:30 a.m., Joel K. Lyding, 56, of Westfield Street turned himself in on an outstanding warrant.

INTERFERING WITH OFFICER, VIOLATION OF PROTECTIVE ORDER — At 3 a.m., Walter T. Dismuke, 27, of no certain address was at a home on Ferry Street trying to get into his ex-girlfriend's apartment while intoxicated. While in his cell, the report says, he refused to sign his form and threw it at the officer, swearing and threatening the officer repeatedly. Police say he began hitting the cell door repeatedly and continued to do so for at least the next 15 minutes.

May 21
DISORDERLY CONDUCT — At 8:04 p.m., Robert Norige, 57, of Stevens Lane was fighting with his roommate and when officers arrived, according to the report, they heard the television volume up very high and heard, "we were both drinking. Just let me do the talking when the police get here and I'll get it all sorted out. Just keep your mouth shut unless you want to go to jail for hitting me," while the other responded, "I hit you because you wouldn't shut up! You hit me yesterday and I didn't call the police on you!" Both men were highly intoxicated, police say, and there were empty beer cans all over the living room floor. The victim had a swollen eye and admitted Norige hit him in the face, but he wouldn't give an official statement, only that he was walking up the stairs and fell, hitting his cheek on the steps, according to the report. The victim admitted to hitting Norige because he wouldn't stop talking and kept using the "N" and "F" words.

BREACH OF PEACE — At 4:20 p.m., Joseph Flowers, 22, of Russell Street was at a home on Main Street Extension and fought with his girlfriend then "bear hugged" her from behind, causing her to drop her cell phone, according to the report. The victim said Flowers was "nagging" her about her clothes and a witness said Flowers intentional bumped the woman's shoulder twice in the Walgreens parking lot, according to the report. 

May 20
OPERATE UNREGISTERED VEHICLE, INSURANCE COVERAGE FAILS MINIMUM, TINTED WINDOWS — At 10 a.m., Joshua Ja. Isleib, 29, of Bartholomew Road was driving on Washington Street with tinted windows.

FAILURE TO WEAR SAFETY BELT IN FRONT SEAT, OPERATION MOTOR VEHICLE WHEN REGISTRATION SUSPENDED, ILLEGAL OPERATION UNDER SUSPENSION — At 4:45 p.m., Troy T. McIntosh, 30, of Wells Avenue, East Hampton, was driving a Chevrolet Silverado pickup on Main Street without a seatbelt. The report says he was coming from work and forgot it, then admitted his license was suspended for past DUI convictions.

VIOLATION OF PROTECTIVE ORDER — At 6:45 p.m., Sarah B. Davis, 39, of Gale Avenue, Meriden, turned herself in on an outstanding warrant.
SECOND-DEGREE VIOLATION OF CONDITIONS OF RELEASE — At 7:35 p.m., Edward McMahon, 48, of East Main Street was heard by witnesses fighting with a woman inside a locked apartment that if she didn't open the door, he'd kill her, according to the report. Police say McMahon was hitting himself in the face as he yelled at the victim.

THIRD-DEGREE CRIMINAL MISCHIEF, BREACH OF PEACE, VIOLATION OF PROTECTIVE ORDER — At 12 a.m., Anthony W. Lyons, 45, of Newfield Street was at a home on Silver Street and kicked in the back door which was barricaded with a chair, according to the report. After asking, "why is there a man in here?" he grabbed the victim by the neck and dragged her to the bedroom to "whoop her," according to the arrest report. Two juveniles got caught in the middle of the fight, the report says. One of the children had a red-marked arm after Lyons stepped on it, police say. Lyons told officers he arrived home from work to find his possessions in garbage bags at the front door and he argued with the victim. 

FIRST-DEGREE FAILURE TO APPEAR — At 11:30 p.m., Julio Velasquez, 36, of Seventh Street, Newington, turned himself in on an outstanding warrant.

USE OF DRUG PARAPHERNALIA, BREACH OF PEACE, POSSESSION LESS THAN OF HALF-OUNCE MARIJUANA — At 10:30 p.m., Todd D. Johnson, 28, of South Main Street was witness by officers relieving himself on the sidewalk in front of a building on Main Street as two small dirty children were running around, according to the report. Police say he had marijuana in his pocket totaling 3.8 grams, a pellet gun and crack cocaine smoking pipe. The children's mother, police say was working at Denny's on South Main Street and said they had been living at the Passport Inn for six months. DCF was notified, according to the report, and Johnson's past includes multiple out-of-state arrests.

May 19
INSURANCE COVERAGE FAILS MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS, OPERATION MOTOR VEHICLE WHEN LICENSE SUSPENDED — Jason W. Edwards, 26, of Town Ridge was driving a Honda Prelude on Main Street Extension near CVS.

May 18
DUI, FAILURE TO DRIVE IN PROPER LANE, POSSESSION WITH INTENT TO SELL, POSSESSION OF AND DISTRIBUTION OF CONTROLLED SUBSTANCES WITHIN 1,500 FEET OF SCHOOL, POSSESSION NARCOTICS — At 2:20 a.m., Michael J. Foley,  25, of Grist Mill Lane, Cobalt, was driving on South Main Street erratically, and, the report says, admitted to drinking earlier in the night. He was found with narcotics and failed a sobriety test, registering a blood alcohol level of .190 and .188.

May 17
OPERATE UNREGISTERED VEHICLE, IMPROPER USE MARKER PLATE, FAILURE TO CARRY LICENSE — At 6:49 p.m., Tiffany Norwood, 25, of Oakland Terrace was driving on Washington and Main streets.

FIRST-DEGREE CRIMINAL TRESPASS — At 8 p.m., Angel Gonzalez, 29, of Alden Street, Hartford, was found on Main Street with an outstanding warrant. DUI — At 2 a.m., Rebecca Westover, 28, of Rising Trail Drive was driving her Toyota Corolla on Westlake Drive near Trolley Crossing and admitted to police she drank four Corona Light beers and a shot at Mad Murphy's bar on South Main Street. The report says her blood alcohol content was .150 and .139.
