Middletown Arrests: March 6-14

The following information was provided by the Middletown Police public information officer. An arrest does not constitute a conviction and all defendants are innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.

 

Middletown Police report the following incidents:

ELDERLY ASSAULT, INTERFERING WITH EMERGENCY CALL — At 11:58 a.m., a female victim told police that the night before at 7 p.m., she went into the room of her roommate, Sean F. Randall, 32, of Hillside Avenue, to say dinner was ready he grabbed both her wrists hard and head butted her twice, causing a black eye, the report says. She tried to call 911, but he took the phone and threw it into the closet then pushed her across the living room and she fell, hitting her head again, the report says. He looked to be drunk, so she waited until he fell asleep to call police. The report says Randall admitted he was intoxicated and didn't know why he hit her.

INSURANCE COVERAGE FAILS MINIMUM, TRAVELING TOO FAST FOR CONDITIONS, RECKLESS DRIVING, DUI, FAILURE TO DRIVE IN PROPER LANE, SECOND-DEGREE ASSAULT — At 1:15 p.m., Joshua W. Putnam, 23, of Center Street, Wallingford, turned himself in on an outstanding warrant.

SECOND-DEGREE FAILURE TO APPEAR — At 10:58 a.m., Pedro T. Hernandez, 31, of Washington Street was arrested at home on an outstanding warrant from Cromwell. 

March 13

THIRD-DEGREE ASSAULT — At 7 a.m. Bart E. Brockett, 43, of Hillside Avenue was served with an outstanding warrant.

March 12

POSSESSION OF CONTROLLED SUBSTANCE — At 9:24 p.m., police were called to 566 Main Street about a man and woman selling drugs and the woman, Latrele C. Hall, 39, of Santangelo Circle, had them in her bra, the report says. A canine found crack in Hall's front pocket. 

March 10

BREACH OF PEACE — At 2:08 p.m., police were called to Washington Street about an unwanted party, in which the victim's neighbor's boyfriend, Lucan F. Davila, 20, of Washington Street was reportedly outside his apartment waving a black handgun, saying "he was going to kill someone with it," according to the report. When officers arrived, the report says, the victim pointed him out, then came outside with Davila and a child. The victim said her two sons, Raymond Comas, 25, and Joshua Comas confronted Davila, in her defense about the incident. The report says Davila vehemently denied having a gun. 

Comas was charged with the above and Davila for brandishing a facsimile firearm, risk of injury to a child, breach of peace and threatening.

ASSAULT PUBLIC SAFETY OFFICER, INTERFERING WITH OFFICER, BREACH OF PEACE AND ATTEMPT TO COMMIT CRIME — At 1:36 a.m., police were parked outside Mezzo Grill on Court Street, while bouncers were having people leave for the night and Christian Ortega, 23, of Collins Street, Waterbury, and Edwin J. Ortega Jr., 32, of Maple Place began to yell at others still inside the bar, the report says. Officers had to physically move them down the street and Edwin refused to move and challenged the officer to a fight, the report says. When the officer tried to arrest Christian he tried to punch the officer in the face and Edwin struggled as well, fighting attempts to put him in the cruiser, the report says. The general manager of Mezzo Grill witnessed the fights and offered a statement the report says. Christian was charged with the above and Edwin for interfering with an officer and breach of peace.

March 6

DUI, FAILURE TO DRIVE AT REASONABLE SPEED — At 12:13 p.m., police were called to an accident on Route 9 at Exit 16 involving a Buick, a Honda Pilot and Buick Century. Christopher Dyson, 36, of Chestnut Lane, Berlin, was behind the wheel of the Buick, and the report says he looked to be under the influence of drugs. He admitted to just receiving methadone from New Haven.
