Middletown Arrests: March 24 to April 3

The following information was provided by the Middletown Police public information officer. An arrest does not constitute a conviction and all defendants are innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.

Middletown Police report the following incidents:

April 3

SECOND-DEGREE SEXUAL ASSAULT, RISK OF INJURY TO A CHILD — Joseph E. Pantano, 20, of South Main Street turned himself in on an outstanding warrant.

April 2

THIRD-DEGREE CRIMINAL MISCHIEF — At 5:02 p.m., Raymond Dawicki, 24, of Broad Street was fighting with his girlfriend and left in a black Dodge Neon, according to the report. Police say he came to pick up a flat-screen television and the victim told him she'd canceled his cell phone service because she no longer wanted to pay for his plan. The report says he got angry and grabbed the phone from her and she went inside and locked the door, so he threw her phone and left in his car. The victim said the damage to the iPhone was $200 so she texted Dawicki, asking him to return. When he returned, the report says, he admitted to doing so.

SECOND-DEGREE BREACH OF PEACE — At 6:37 p.m. a woman at Main Street Market said Lisa M. Gibbs, 45, of Bow Lane was there earlier asking  for money in a "very intimidating manner," by swearing, stepping very close to the victim, pulling down her lip and exposing blood and an open sore, the report says. She  kept getting closer and frightening the victim, police say. Officers found her at Main and Ferry streets

BREACH OF PEACE — At 8:43 p.m., police were called about an intoxicated person at Patty Palace on Main Street  and found Roger Bishop, 33, of Hillside Avenue at the cash register. The report says he had slurred speech and was unable to stand so he was sent to the hospital via ambulance and was aggressive in the ambulance with officers and hospital staff, kicking them, that he was brought to headquarters instead.

March 25

BREACH OF PEACE — At 1:18 a.m., police were called to the home of Jordan A. Balmaceda, 22, of Town Place Drive on a domestic argument. The report says a woman was standing outside hysterical with a small dog, and told officers her husband, Balmaceda, had drank a great deal and was violent. The report says he pulled her dog's collar so hard that she was dragged along the floor and as she left in her car, Balmaceda opened her door and pushed her out then grabbed the dog from her arms and they fell to the ground.

March 24

INSURANCE COVERAGE FAILS MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS — At 12:30 p.m., police served Cynthia D. Renfro, 45, of Traverse Square with a warrant.
