Middletown Arrests: June 20-27

Middletown Police report the following incidents:

June 27

DISORDERLY CONDUCT — At 1:15 a.m., Daniel Schaffrick, 28, of McDowell Road was involved in a domestic dispute with his girlfriend. The report says his Hyundai Elantra was on the lawn of a nearby house and his brother told police Schaffrick pulled the chair out from under the girlfriend and "crashed" his car on a lawn. Schaffrick told police he accidentally engaged the emergency brake, causing the "crash."

THIRD- AND SECOND-DEGREE LARCENY — At 6 a.m., Ryan Scarrozzo, 26, of East Street turned himself in on an outstanding warrant.

TWO COUNTS FIRST-DEGREE FAILURE TO APPEAR, VIOLATION OF PROTECTIVE ORDER — At 10:40 p.m., Thomas Lydick, 48, of Grand Street was seen by police who knew he had an outstanding warrant.

SECOND-DEGREE FAILURE TO APPEAR, OPERATE UNREGISTERED VEHICLE AND WHEN LICENSE IS SUSPENDED, IMPROPER USE MARKER PLATE, INSURANCE COVERAGE FAILS MINIMUM, NARCOTICS NOT KEPT IN ORIGINAL CONTAINER — At 9:45 a.m., Bret G. Plucinski, 52, of Woodland Heights, Rockfall, was seen by police pushing a four-door Buick sedan on Newfield Street. According to the report, the plate was registered to a Volkswagen Jetta, and Plucinski said the car ran out of gas. He was found with an outstanding warrant and a small ziplock bag with different types of medications, police say. He told officers he takes more than 30 pills a day, including morphine, muscle relaxers and anti-anxiety due to severe back and knee pain. 

June 23

DISORDERLY CONDUCT, THIRD-DEGREE ASSAULT — At 6:30 p.m., David Gonzalez, 32, of Wilcox Avenue, Meriden, was involved in an assault on Burgundy Hill Lane. The report says Gonzalez entered his ex-girlfriend's apartment and assaulted her new boyfriend, then threw a bottle at him, breaking a picture on the wall, and punching him in the face eight times. 

June 22

ILLEGAL SALE OF CONTROLLED SUBSTANCE, POSSESSION WITH INTENT TO SELL AND LESS THAN HALF-OUNCE MARIJUANA, ATTEMPT TO COMMIT CRIME — At 8:42 p.m., undercover police purchased a quarter-ounce of marijuana for $190 from Matthew R. Demelis, 19, of Margarite Road, using a phone seized from a drug dealer after his arrest, according to the report. They met at Harbor Park and he was found with 3.9 grams of marijuana.

June 21

SECOND-DEGREE BREACH OF PEACE — At 6 p.m., police were called to Keagan's Irish Pub on Main Street about a fight out front. Angel M. Quinones, 43, of Main Street, the report says, was punching an Asian man over a "personal"  matter. The pub owner said Quinones often hung out nearby "causing problems and stealing things."

June 20

NARCOTICS NOT KEPT IN ORIGINAL CONTAINER, POSSESSION CONTROLLED SUBSTANCES, USE OF DRUG PARAPHERNALIA — At 8:34 a.m., Adrian Regula, 23, of East Mount Road was asleep in a Honda on Country Side Lane, according to police. The report says his speech was slurred and soft and he told officers he was waiting for his girlfriend to wake up. Police found a prescription pill bottle with 41.5 Buspirones, one Viibryd (anti-depressant) and one Zolpidem (sedative) and another with Oxymorphine and Oxycodone pills in his pocket and cut straws inside the car.
