Middletown Arrests: Oct. 1-11

The following information was provided by state police the Middletown Police Department public information officer. An arrest does not constitute a conviction and all defendants are innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.

 

Middletown Police report the following incidents:

DISORDERLY CONDUCT — On Oct. 11, Muhammad Zahir Mannan, 24, of Freeman Road was at Middletown Police after officers were called to the Middlesex Hospital emergency room about his small child being there for evaluation. The report says Mannan pulled his wife's hair, causing her head to bang the child's.

DISORDERLY CONDUCT, THIRD-DEGREE ASSAULT — On Oct. 10 at 7:52 p.m., police were called to a domestic in which a mother said her son, Christopher Christensen, 29, of Burgundy Hill Road, was drunk and banging on her sliding glass door. When officers arrived, the report says, he told them he was upset the family was having to leave the apartment and he felt very bad and just wanted to sleep. The report says the mother said he does this often but usually goes to sleep. This time, he turned over a table and broke dishes and he left, came back an hour later seemingly more intoxicated and screaming and pounding the glass door so he called 911. Police told him to go inside and go to sleep. When police were leaving the mother ran outside and said he had just punched her in the face, which cut her mouth, "yelling, 'I hate you, it's all your fault!'" The sister tackled Christensen and held him until police returned, the report indicates.

VIOLATION OF PROTECTIVE ORDER — On Oct. 9 at 7:37 p.m., police were called to 52 Deerfield Avenue on the report that Victor Peplau, 54, of Deerfield Avenue was sleeping in the garage of a home where the resident has a protective order against him.

OPERATE VEHICLE WHEN LICENSE IS SUSPENDED — On Oct. 9 at 10:38 a.m., police saw Tyler Mings, 26, of Hotchkiss Street driving on Hotchkiss and turn onto Goodyear Avenue then Hubbard Street without signaling.

OPERATE VEHICLE WHEN REGISTRATION IS SUSPENDED — On Oct. 8 at 2:20 a.m., Rafael Deleon, 46, of Stoneycrest Drive was driving a Buick SUV on Newfield Street and crossed the double yellow line with a plate that belongs on a 1996 Plymouth Breeze. The report says Deleon was driving home from his girlfriend's house in her car which was not registered because she didn't have a parking spot.

BREACH OF PEACE — On Oct. 8 at 6:15 a.m., Mark Baran, 45, of East Main Street, police were called to the Middlesex Hospital emergency room about an intoxicated belligerent patient brought in by ambulance but was angry at the emergency management technician. The report says he kept saying, "I'm going to hunt that [expletive] down" and referred to staff with insulting, profane language. Baran told police he was angry because he thought the EMT was speaking down to him and he was sorry for alarming everyone.

TWO COUNTS SIXTH-DEGREE LARCENY — On Oct. 7, China L. Bruce, 20, of Cooley Avenue was at Stop & Shop on East Main Street and seen by store security placing items worth $27.68 in her purse and leaving the store without paying.

SIXTH-DEGREE LARCENY, CONSPIRACY TO COMMIT SIXTH-DEGREE LARCENY, THIRD-DEGREE CRIMINAL TRESPASS — On Oct. 7 at 9:30 p.m., police were called to a larceny in progress at GP Auto Sales on East Main Street and saw the suspect, Sean Alexander Kerr, 22, of Silver Street, walking down the street, the report says.

SECOND-DEGREE FAILURE TO APPEAR — On Oct. 6, Amie L. St. Amand, 30, of LKA Bow Lane turned herself in on an outstanding warrant.

SECOND-DEGREE FAILURE TO APPEAR, FAILURE TO RESPOND TO INFRACTION — On Oct. 7 at 3:30 a.m., Dylan C. Ous, 18, of Hopewell Road, Glastonbury, turned himself in on an outstanding warrant from Portland and another from Hartford was discovered.

FAILURE TO OBEY CONTROL SIGNAL, OPERATION MOTOR VEHICLE WHEN LICENSE SUSPENDED — On Oct. 7, Brue H. Young, 46, of Layton Lane, New Britain, was seen driving a 1998 Ford Crown Victoria through a red light at Main and Pleasant streets.

SIXTH-DEGREE LARCENY — On Oct. 7, Chari Bruce, 25, of Cooley Avenue was seen by Stop & Shop security walking out of the store with an ice cream worth $1.25 that she did not pay for, the report indicates.

THREE COUNTS SECOND-DEGREE FAILURE TO APPEAR — On Oct. 2 at 5:21 p.m., police were investigating a missing suicidal person, Zoe Schreiber, 22, of Branch Street, Waterbury, and found at Middlesex Hospital with three outstanding warrants.

NON-STUDENT POSSESSING DRUGS AND DRUG PARAPHERNALIA NEAR SCHOOL — On Oct. 1 at 6:30 p.m., police were taking in a young man on two outstanding warrants at his mother's home. He tried to flee and struggled with officers, the report says, and in plain view officers saw 4.1 grams of marijuana and rolling papers. HIs mother, Maria Murillo, 42, of Main Street, told police it was hers.
