Middletown Arrests: Aug. 28 to Sept. 6

The following information was provided by the Middletown Police Department public information officer. An arrest does not constitute a conviction and all defendants are innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.

 

Newington Police report an incident:

BREACH OF PEACE — Daniel Usher, 25, of Meetinghouse Lane in Middletown on Sept. 14 at 2:14 p.m.

Middletown Police report the following incidents:

OPERATION MOTOR VEHICLE WHEN LICENSE SUSPENDED — On Sept. 18, Kyle R. Rawling, 23, of Grove Street was driving on Spring Street without a seatbelt and suspended license since July 25.

BREACH OF PEACE — On Sept. 18 at 11 a.m., Marlayne M. Rudolph, 25, of Main Street told police her male roommate threatened her stepfather outside the Main Street Laundry, according to the report. While on the phone with dispatch, the report says, she fought with Gina M. Bernardi, 28, of Main Street, at Main and Washington streets. The male reportedly told her he would have her stepfather beat up because, "he didn't like men that fight with women," the report says. Rudolph said he called her names and the woman got in her face so she pushed her away, the report says.

FIRST- AND SECOND-DEGREE FAILURE TO APPEAR — On Sept. 18 at 2 p.m., Robert Dunbar, 25, of Main Street turned himself in on an outstanding warrant.

VIOLATION OF PROBATION — On Sept. 17 at 4:42 p.m., Bryon Bell, 26, of Prospect Street was seen by officers walking at Main and Liberty streets with an outstanding warrant.

VIOLATION OF PROTECTIVE ORDER — On Sept. 17 at 5:14 p.m., police were called to Main Street Market for a domestic in which a female victim said James R. Freeman II, 30, of Park Place violated his protective order by talking to her inside the mall, leaving, coming back then swearing at her. The report says Freeman denied swearing at her and said he was there first, so the female should have been arrested. A search reveals he has arrests for three counts each violation of a protective order and restraining order, five counts harassment, two counts violation of conditions and two probation violations.

THIRD-DEGREE ASSAULT, BREACH OF PEACE — On Sept. 17 at 11 p.m., police patrolling Hillside Avenue near East Main Street heard people yelling and found two women, one crying hysterically, the report says, and pregnant. The second woman was calming her down. The victim said her stepfather, Ismael Adorno Guzman, 48, of Hillside Avenue, hit her during a fight over a bath towel, the report says. Inside the apartment officers heard a woman and man screaming, police say, broke down the door and saw Guzman standing over a female victim, the crying woman's mother, about to hit her. The report says the five-months pregnant woman told officers the fight began when she asked Guzman if he used her towel since both he and her mother have an auto-immune disease. The report says the mother said Guzman had "severe mental problems."

FIRST-DEGREE CRIMINAL TRESPASS — On Sept. 16 at 9:52 p.m., David Carey, 48, of no certain address, was found in an apartment on Broad Street after security investigated an alarm. The report says he was a problem in the building in the past and had been told not to return. Police found him in a closet, intoxicated and uncooperative, the report says, and he knew he couldn't trespass but didn't understand why he was being arrested.

DUI — On Sept. 16 at 1:18 a.m., Roland Leupold, 55, of College Street was seen by police involved in a motorcycle accident on Main Street Extension, when, the report says, he admitted to drinking alcohol and smelled of liquor. He failed a sobriety and breath test.

IMPROPER USE MARKER PLATE, OPERATE UNREGISTERED VEHICLE, INSURANCE COVERAGE FAILS MINIMUM — On Sept. 15, Jeffrey Given, 51, of Wilcox Drive was arrested.

VIOLATION OF PROTECTIVE ORDER — On Sept. 15, Robert Burgos, 33, of Cooper Street, Manchester, was picked up on an active Middletown warrant for a Sept. 5 domestic incident. The report says he was released May 14 from Hartford Correctional for violation of a protective order for a Hartford arrest.

OPERATION MOTOR VEHICLE WHEN LICENSE SUSPENDED, INSURANCE COVERAGE FAILS MINIMUM — On Sept. 15 at 10:15 a.m., Rafael Deleon Sr., 46, of Stoneycrest Drive was driving a Plymouth Breeze on Park Place ahead of a police officer.

OPERATION MOTOR VEHICLE WHEN LICENSE SUSPENDED, IMPROPER USE MARKER PLATE, DEFECTIVE WINDSHIELD, DUI — On Sept. 15, Charles M. Lewis, 37, of Hillside Avenue was driving a Jeep Cherokee on Church Street with a cracked windshield and no front license plate. The report says Lewis told officers he just bought the Jeep and was driving it home but could not produce a title. Inside the car was a cold, open can of beer on the floor and though he was not drunk, police say, claimed responsibility for drinking while driving.

DISORDERLY CONDUCT — On Sept. 14 at 6:01 p.m., police were called to a domestic on Carriage Crossing involving girlfriend and boyfriend Rachael Massey, 22, and Sean Caven, 23, both of Carriage Crossing, fighting over her cheating on him. Massey said Caven grabbed her by the shirt and pushed her, the report says, and she grabbed his shirt to avoid him leaving with her phone. Massey said she was physical with him and he never touched her. Both were arrested.

TWO COUNTS SECOND-DEGREE FAILURE TO APPEAR — On Sept. 14 at 6:31 p.m., Charles Fennimore Jr., 27, of Chapman Road, Westbrook, was found by officers after an unwanted person complaint and had two outstanding warrants, the report states.

THIRD-DEGREE ASSAULT, DISORDERLY CONDUCT — On Sept. 14, Stephanie D. Sajek, 38, of Hendley Street was in a fight with her 15-year-old daughter in which, the report says, she punched her, pulled her hair and tried to slam her head into the wall.

BREACH OF PEACE, TWO COUNTS VIOLATION OF PROTECTIVE ORDER — On Sept. 14 at 8:10 p.m., Terrance L. Davis, 39, of Portland Street contacted a woman protected by an order by several, non-threatening text messages, the report says. When found at Harbor Park, he admitted to doing so but told officers it was because she had his medication. He was found with an outstanding warrant.

IMPROPER USE MARKER PLATE — On Sept. 14 at 5:08 a.m., police were called to a home on Glover Place about a suspicious vehicle parked. Inside at blue Honda, the officer found Jessica Kimball, 32, of Pine Street, with a plate registered to a white Honda Accord. She told police, the report says, she was meeting a friend and admitted to putting an old plate on her car because she didn't have the money to register it.

OPERATION MOTOR VEHICLE WHEN LICENSE SUSPENDED, FAILURE TO DRIVE UPON RIGHT — On Sept. 13 at 6:40 p.m., Crystal Wilcox, 23, was driving a Toyota Corolla involved in a two-car head-on collision on River Road near Walnut Street. The victim told officers he was leaving his driveway and saw a pickup coming, then Wilcox pass the pickup in her car and hit his car, the report says. Wilcox said he had to drive into the oncoming lane to avoid being hit by the man's car. The witness driving the pickup truck, the report says, said Wilcox didn't stop for the sign, was speeding and passed him on the left; as she passed, he saw her head down and she looked to be on her cell phone. The report says he also saw her deleting all her recent texts from her phone; Wilcox denied using the phone.

FAILURE TO KEEP PLATES READABLE, OPERATION MOTOR VEHICLE WHEN LICENSE SUSPENDED — On Sept. 11, Marilynd E. Tirado, 23, of James Street, Hartford, at 8:02 p.m. was seen by an officer driving on Stoneycrest Drive with an illegal license place attachment, the report says. Police say the plate is registered to a Honda Odyssey.

FIRST-DEGREE CRIMINAL TRESPASS — On Sept. 9 at 6:23 p.m., police received a call that Wayne S. Green, 48, of Silver Street was an unwanted visitor at 98 Liberty Street; the report says he told police he was just visiting a friend.

OPERATION MOTOR VEHICLE WHEN REGISTRATION SUSPENDED — On Sept. 9 at 7:30 pm., Tashiema Dempsey, 29, of Cooley Avenue was driving a Dodge Charger with no front marker plate on Main Street Extension. Dempsey told the officer she pays her car payment through a bank and had been late a few times.

OPERATION MOTOR VEHICLE WITH CELL PHONE, OPERATION MOTOR VEHICLE WHEN LICENSE SUSPENDED — On Sept. 5 at 8:58 a.m., Tracey Ann Jenkins, 43, of Jefferson Avenue was driving a Jeep on Washington and West streets taking on the phone

NARCOTICS NOT KEPT IN ORIGINAL CONTAINER — On Aug. 26 at 4:22 a.m., Jill Noelle Fucini, 44, of Cedarland Court, Cromwell, was seen in a Chevrolet Impala with the motor running and headlights off at Washington and Main streets, where, the report says, many narcotics transactions take place. Police say her male passenger, Carl Rankins, 53, of Broad Street, made eye contact with the officer than reached downward in the car suspiciously. Rankins, the report says, admitted he had a crack pipe. A search revealed a prescription bottle with a ripped-off label and various narcotics pills including a Codeine, which Rankins said he had a prescription for at home. The report says both Fucini and Rankins admitted they were waiting to buy crack. Fucini was arrested for the above and Rankins for use of drug paraphernalia.
